Default Similarities between Afghanistan and Bangladesh teams

its rather uncanny how many there are...lets see if anyone can add any more:

- talented teams that often play under their potential
- both teams came out of nowhere (AFG from WCL Division 5; UAE, Canada, Kenya, and Netherlands all qualified for the World Cup before BD)
- both teams have loud fans
- both teams have a penchant for losing games they dominated in the final over
- both teams can collapse at any time from any position
- have 1 named players (Ihsanullah from AFG; Mahmudulla, Nazimuddin from BD)

I think there are more differences than similarities tbh.

Today's game was basically all Afg with the exception of a superb auto pilot innings from Riyad, and Imrul to a lesser extent. And then Afg maintained calm and dominance like a pro side till the last over before Fizz bailed Bd out with a miracle over. Defended 8 runs with 4 wickets in hand!

Its not about 1 game or even 1 series just some generalized things I've noticed over the last several years.

Afghanistan are entirely different from the bangladesh team. They are hard working, intelligent in their gameplan, and, recently, seldom panic.

We have been consistently mediocre in all the aforementioned departments for 18 years.

If this was the case they wouldn't have choked in two consecutive games. Had they won both, they'd have already been in the final with a game to spare.

The fact that Afghanistan took not one but two super 4 games to the last over shows how far they have really come. this is a matter of inexperience and maturity level, which I expect to change in future. 8 off 6 is too easy, you can just milk singles or doubles and just one boundary does it...even without boundaries 2,2,2,2 also does it.

One teams plays like tigers while the other is a wanna be tiger full of so called SUPERSTARS who wins a match and gets a flat/car in return.

Take that 20 year old 'kid' Rashid Khan out and Afghanistan are at the same level as Honk Kong or UAE. Their entire game plan is based around his 10 overs.

It'll depend on how much young Mujeeb improves by

Rashid and the rest are already at their peak

Our team is full of far superior athletes, we should have flattened them

- Both depend on their spinners to contain runs
- Both are proud of the wars they have faced
- Both majority muslim players
- Both have had players had players pivotal to their IPL team's success
- Both of irritating wicket keepers (personality wise) not Liton
- Both have players who have cheesy dance moves to celebrate
- Both have fans who use chorai links to watch games

How is Afgun team playing under potential.
They are beating Srilanka, BD and almost Pak.
If anything thse players are using their potential very well.
BD is the team which plays under potential.

Same can be said about our team. Already Tamim being absent is having a huge impact on our batting

Only similarity is both the nations have ridiculous fans. Very proud and irritating. Actually all the fans in this region have this quality in common

You believe too much into what people outside the border say about us, the fans in our neighbouring countries are no better, probably even worse. Just a visit to the forums of a certain country will tell you how their fans are already thinking of the final and how they will do a CT on India . As if their next game is against Bermuda, the fans in this forum are way more grounded than that

I was not talking about the fans from this forum. Most are sane. Was talking about bd fans in general. In fb and in CI, i have seen many keyboard warriors. They act like we are the best team cricket has ever seen. India and Pak fans do the exact same thing. Afg fans just joined the proud fans club. Our region is full of arrogant egotistical fans to be honest
