Default List of new players that intrigues you..

This is about listing any new players, or previously unknown or little known players that catches your eye in this WC. Some of you probably seen or heard about them, but I suppose that is not the case with the majority here. Here are mine and list should grow in the future. Future young stars perhaps.

1. Mesut Ozil - midfielder( Ger ) : I am actually mesmerized by his lazy, languid style and he plays with vision and one touch. Gifted left foot.

2. Luis Suarez- forward ( Uru ) : Great striker.

3. Elia - midfield ( Ned ) : Superb skill.

4. Fabio Contreau - leftback ( Por ) : Love his game

I will add more as we go on ..

1.nothing new to say abt Ozil, that guy is bagging the biggest transfer offer after the WC.
2. Elia is a spectacle to watch, he should start in all the Holland game from now on.
3. Suarez scored some 45 goals for Ajax last season, and is definitely a good striker. But I find his diving tendency highly irritating which sometimes even disturbs Forlan's play. Not everyone can pull off a C.Ronaldo....

Honda. The ultimate unselfish player. The way he put the dagger in the Danish defense was eye soothing. Did all the work and game his team-mate to record a goal under his name (teammate). Even my son (7 year old) could score that goal.

exactly... and does his credit go down a tiny bit for not scoring himself? absolutely NOT. Instead he deserves more credit for being so unselfish. Almost 80% of the players in this WC would have gone for glory (and 80% of them would have made the ball sail miles above the post). sooner a player realizes WC is all abt country & team rather than increasing his value in the European League.... the game will be that much entertaining to watch (and thats why I would rate Honda's 3rd goal assist wayyyyy higher than tshabalala's jhore bok strike against mexico)

Honda is a class act. The last Jap goal against the Danish was a beauty.
He made it but passed at the most crucial time...he is a team man. Great play.

Suarez isnt new. He has been in top form in the last 2 years. Ozil, Muller, Khedira, Neuer all first emerged in the U-20 WC. Honda plays for Moscow and they are a decent team. I thought they all performed as I expected them to. I first noticed Honda by one of his free kicks. It was a long time ago but I knew he would be the new S. Nakamura for Japan. It was against Hong Kong in the U-22 chamionships. Truly amazing kick

But players who surprised me were Coentrao, Enuyeama and Paston. I had heard of almost 95% of all the "stars" in this world cup. But not Paston. He was a big big surprise. Also Eduardo, the Portugal keeper. I thought he lost his touch, but great performance.
