Default Boycs, Bangladesh are here to stay - Anand Vasu

Well written. Read it. Man it will give you little charm.
http://content.cricinfo.com/ci/conte...ry/213903.html

"He played completely down the wrong line in saying "They [Bangladesh] are an embarrassment to Test cricket." He was nowhere near the pitch of the ball when he suggested, "Nobody wants to see it and the vast accumulation of runs against them does nothing for the game." And he was clean bowled when he spluttered, "My mum would have scored runs and got wickets against Bangladesh ... she'd have wanted to bat and bowl at both ends."

Dumbstruck: 'His mouth gaped," wrote Frank Keating, "and he tottered as if he'd seen the Devil himself" © Patrick Eager/WCM

I wonder why Anand Vasu being an Indian is trying to ver friendly with us.

I dont mean nything negative or feel bad on that...

But...i just wonder is this all bcoz he thinks he needs to prove us that we shldnt go anti-india..if by nychance he happen to know from somewhere...that some of us go anti-india!!!!

Guys, just cant undersatnd why would he write such on us..there's gotta be some reason..behind this..

I dont mean he shldnt but whtz the exact reason behind this???

Lance,

Maybe - just maybe - he loves the great game of cricket, and thinks that Bangladesh have something to offer ?

As mod: wonder this stuff in the forget cricket section.

As fellow poster: Starting to dwell on the motivations for good coverage now? Come on - watch the ashes man!

Um, maybe because he is just a decent person and a friend of Bangladeshi cricket?

Lance, you really are mind-bogglingly ***** sometimes.

hahahaha....funny stuff.
but really, that michael holding over was something. dont think any team will ever produce a pace quartet (triplet?) like that of the windies in the '80s. the fear factor won them half of the match before it even started.

and anand vasu is bang on target with this one. it maybe be easy to get runs against us in a test match in early english summer on our debut tour in england, but these days wont last.

Joshi writes bad things about BD , hence he is anti BD. Vasu writes good thinks about BD, he must be anti BD. Nice logic.

Istiak,

This is not unusual with his "arguments".

Guys! We have a serious problem. While we detaste criticism (rightly so, especially a stupid criticism like that of Boycott); we are suspicious of positiave comments (that of Anand Vasu). Please give him a break. Can't we appreciate some one who encourages our cricketing abilities. We are a poor nation in terms of wealth, but we were never poor in curtesy. I feel ashamed of such comment made by one of us (by lance_klusner). Let alone an Indian, we should appreciate even an Englishman, if he happens to make positive comments about our cricket.

I like this part :::::

"And figures like Boycott, whose every utterance is eagerly lapped up by the cricketing public around the world, need to be especially careful what they say. It's one thing for the fool on the street to watch Sachin Tendulkar tamely pat a full toss back to the bowler, and say, "Even I could have hit that for six." It is another entirely for those who see themselves, fortunately or unfortunately, or are seen as custodians of the game, to be loosely flinging statements around."

ok- i find this funny as this thread has taken many shapes, it started out as a defense to Boycott's statement referred in an "anand vasu" article; which got "criticised" since he's an Indian and then finally "lance_klusner" bashing!!!
Guys, can't we take anything lightly? Do we have to fight an argue over every little thing?

why are we overreacting to his comments-he's always been straightforward and brash about his opinions.
He calls Inzi "Titanic"- but that doesn't mean Inzi's going to ram him!
Cmon guys- take a chill pill and get on with the game!

I'm always against declaring someone biased, based on his nationality. Neither all the indians are against nor all the Pakis are rajakar. We heard praise from Ravi as well as W-Akram. Anand vasu critised BCCI quite openly on its decision to delaying the tour of BD to Ind. He also said that while Indian board tries hard to accept any tour from Aus, they weren't able to host BD in 5 years. We should thank him, or send e-mail to cricinfo thanking him for his comment.

Thanks to BC fans for recognizing and speaking up against the paranoia evident in Lance_K's post. It's almost as distasteful as Boycott's comments.
