Muttiah Muralitharan, the icon of Asian cricket and undoubtedly one of the best cricketers cricket world will ever witness. The spin wizard has already touched the world record by securing 4 wickets in the first Test against England. He will defnitely create the new world record today.

He will defnitely re-write many pages of the record book in future.

he is a legend!! he has been a great splayer for SL and they are where they are today mainly thanks to him!! he has made all the South Asians proud and most importantly he is a quiet down to eart guy, i wish him more wickets!!! mainly coz SL arent playin us for a while...hehehehe

Somewhere I read, once Murali meeting with Tony Blair and the Cabinet members said, "nice to meet fellow master of spins". Pretty jolly good man.

I am waiting to congratulate him once he gets 1000 test wickets. I am from a era where 300 test wickets would make a player legend. Now measure Murali's greatness.

Cricinfo's Charlie Austin took an interview of Murali after the milestone and he firmly stated that Arjuna Ranatunga is the most influential person for his cricketing career so far, without his support he may not have broken this world record.

gives you that sinister look with his front teeth open when he swings the ball.
