Not a bad XI if you ask me. I would rather have Sadat in place of Forhad though.
Why nadif , he looks to me the next Al Shahriar Rokon

The academy got to develop few decent top order batsmen, otherwise we are going nowhere.

Good to see Naeem back in the team after a long break. I wish he was not in such a hurry to score his runs (although I am kind a glad that he paid little respect to Wahab Riaz and Sohail Khan).

gazi salahuddin, nafis iqbal or nazmus sadat are other options for opening the innings, i guess they could play 1st drop as well.

Thanks Miraz Bhai for the Scorecard.

This is much better than first 4 dayer although batting was poor bowlers are doing good job. If BD raps them up for 290 and bat more sensibly who knows we may win this one.

Nazmul not bowling well as normal. He is more experinced than any other player in the field

i wouldn't say that at all. we played the first 4 dayer, minus several of our top batters, and only lost by 8 wickets. our fool strength national team couldn't have done that against a PAK C side, unless rajib clicks like the janowar he occaisionally is.

and now we'll hopefully find ourselves, down by just 20-30 at innings break. thats not bad at all. remember this is a team which was winning test matches on debut nearly 60 years ago.

Imrul is really struggling to recover, good batting from Shamsur, IMO team selection let us down again, Nadif, Faruq and Farhad shouldnt be really in the team

Yet another poor performance from our academy boys.

Pakistan Academy first innings 289 all out.

GP-BCA 173 all out in the second innings and PCA 56 for 1

I think the academy cup has been a good eye opener: it's demonstrated that pretty much all the academy batsmen need to have at least 2 more seasons of NCL, Academy and A-team cricket before even being near the national team (test). Yes I do remember the wins against SA academy, but in the test level opposition bowling is more likely to resemble that of the Pakis, against whom they came a cropper consistently throughout the whole tourney.

He is not doing so well as a captain since he doesn't have the captaincy right now.

and they're still avoiding innings defeats. which shows how badly our senior team is mismatched at test level.

There could be several scenarios:

1) The difference between their Academy and Nat'l team is very very big
2) The difference between our Academy and Nat'l team is not very very big
etc etc..

Default Tournament stats

From http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/bang...l?view=records

One-day Series:
Nasir Hossain became the highest scorer for BD Academy and 3rd highest scorer in the tournament with 221 runs (including 3 fifties) at average 55.25. Nasir is also the 2nd highest wicket taker for BD Academy with 5 wickets (one short of Shuvo's wicket tally) that he has taken at average 25.8 and an impressive economy rate of 3.61. I definitely want to see Nasir in the A-team for one-day matches in England this August.

BD-Pak four-day matches:

Shamsur Rahman is the highest scorer for BD Academy with 195 runs at average 65. This performance should make him an auto choice for the A-team. I like to see him being tried as an one-down batsman for both one-day and four-day matches.
