How fast is Shahadat?
Hello everyone!
Nice to see that Bang A beat Zim A. I just wanted to know how fast Shahadat Hossain Rajib really is. Is he faster or as tall as than Masri?

I used to hear he is faster than Masri, and the fastest in BD. Then read the news on the BCB pacer hunt final day, where Talha and Rajib showed up. They bowled at 76 and 78 mph accordingly.

Though I haven't watched him playing but heard that he's pretty fast. Please note that we have got 3 more genuine fast bowlers from the recent PACER HUNT competition. So, apart from the left arm spinners we r pretty much getting some real fast bowlers too.

I'll post a small video clip of Rajib's bowling in few min. The clip was gracefully supplied by none other than our member Taif (Thank you Taif). The clip was taken during the England tour of our U19 team.
THe clip isn't that great, but hey, you can see the run-up

Here are our proven fast bowlers:
Masri
Tapash
Nazmul
Talha
Tareq
Here are the upcoming seamers:
Shahadat
Russel
Do we know the "speed" of these bowlers? Anyone?

I want to shorten your list:
Senior National level fast bowlers:
Mashrafe
Tapash
Nazmul
Upcoming fast bowlers for the National level:
Shahadat
SK Russell
Because I believe Shahadat and Russell are going to overtake Talha, Tareq, Sharif and others in the run for getting place in the National Team.

I think Shahadat should be picked for England series.(After his performance against Zim A, 8 wicks in the match!)The other reason being, english pitches are really seamer friendly.
Then we will have Mashrafee, Taposh and Shahadat in the bowling line up!(If we play 2 spinners, enamul and Rafiqe, we can have Shahadat as the 12th man. So if there is any injury we will have a real good backup bowler)
Shahadat should be mature enough to play for National team now, specially after all the match practise against England A, Zim A etc
What do you guys think?

I watched Shahadat bowl in England and he has the physique to be a real quick bowler. The problem is at the moment he is not consistent in line and also bowls quite a few no balls. The reason behind him bowling no balls is because he has quite a long run up and was stuttering when running in to bowl in England.
The question is does he need that kind of long run up to bowl fast. I think he well have more control if he bowls from a shorter run up and he can still maintain the same pace.
The perfect example is Brett Lee he does not have a long run up but this does not effect the pace he bowls at. I would have thought Richard our coach would have picked up on this.

What ? You mean Shahadat has the same issues as every other young fast bowler ever ?
Even Dennis Lillie had these issues when he was a kid.
