I think 20-20 will be the most popular form of cricket around the world in the next few years. It less time consuming and it's more fun to watch.

Remember how our batsmen struggled in the rain-curtailed match against Australia in the world cup? Twenty20 is not an all-luck game - there's a fair bit of skill involved as well. south africa and australia will probably be on top because of their hard-hitting players.

Nazmul Hossain Milon's last two innings

56* off 20 balls; 4 fours and 5 sixes

144 off 89 balls; 11 fours and 9 sixes

only drawback....both matches were played at Dhanmondi Stadium

On April 4th of 2007, Dhaka vs Rajshahi he was the star. (dhanmondi cricket ground)
In that game chasing 300 for 50 overs dhaka was 112/7 (23.5 overs). Then came Nazmul. The game changed. With a SR of 161 he demolished Rajshahi's attack (spared noone). next wicket (his) fell on 286. 9 sixes over all and 11 fours. Dhaka won by one wicket in the last ball. Enamul Haque, Nadir shah and Raqibul were referees and match referees.
OMG!! THAT WAS ONE INNINGS!!
He plays one amazing innings which could have easily been some crazy fluke, and now everyone wants him in the team? I've heard enough of that one match. There is no way he should be in the team unless he shows a LOT more glimpses of innings such as that.

People present in that match said they have never seen any BD players hitting so hard and so far. At least one ball was lost and there were huge sixes, never seen before by anyone. so there you go, this guy has some power and guts. No matter how weak the opponents are. I think rajshahi had pacers like shafaq al jabir, and several well known bowlers who all got hammered.

sure he does not have intl experience, but this is guy is something!

What the hell? You didnt even let me answer the question. Dont just ask a question and then answer it yourself.

Anyway, I guess i didnt explain my point right. By "fluke" i meant that this guy isnt gonna play like that in the national team. We've seen players like him before. Sakib is one interesting player, that, though he is in the national team and is a wonderful prospect, he doesnt play the way he did in first class or age group levels. He almost always had a strike rate of 100+ and now, he struggles to keep his strike rate above 65 in international.
What I'm saying is that a few innings where he blows away the opposition, and that in a first class match as well, isnt going to make him a star player. Sure he might be called up to the national team. But then, just like so many other bangladeshis before, (e.g. tushar), he will not be able to perform the way he does in national or club level. I guarantee you this will happen. I've never even heard of this guy. And after one crazy innings, he's headed off to the 20/20 world cup? It aint gonna happen mate.

And also, nazmul came into bat at number 9. Do you think that a player who to you seems to be the next big thing for bangladesh as a batsman, would come down at number 9, with his team staring down the barrel at 112/7? No way in hell would a team do that. Just goes to show that he pulled it off out of the blue, which further proves that his innings was most likely a brilliant fluke.

How about this? Name me 3 bangladeshi players who have shown promise from age group levels and continued their performances in international levels CONSISTENTLY, besides bashar.

to Cricket_King's post:::::

Nazmul's recent innings looks quiet good.. i dont know him...but based on his stats.. i think he willl be good 20/20 player....

NZ open their innings with Frankling in 20/20 matches.. as hes a good hard hitter.... its not a problem to count him as a batsman in 20/20.. hes a definitely no no to 50/50

isnt he an off spinner.. i think in some thread we discussed abt him....

Why Rafiq is out of 20-20 team? We need him for two reasons- for containing the runs, and also for his batting.

Rafiq can't even hold the bat anymore. He holds it like he's holding a bet to spank his kid. I would rather replace him with a hard hitting batsman. Razzak can bowl tight, and can hold the bat, even if it's like a baseball bat.
