His technique isn't that bad, it's his temperament mainly his patience. In that last innings he showed his defensive capabilities when he was willing to defend and stay a bit further back in the crease, he waited for the ball and defended which is the correct technique in swinging/seaming conditions.
His mindset isn't there yet though, he wants to dominate which is fine but at number 3 when you dominate you have to look to hit on the ground and find the gaps rather than play aerial, you also need the mentality of batting out the entire innings and making a big one.
He played a cover drive in the semi final, it was the perfect type of shot to play as a number 3 in that situation, it was positive cricket, it was safe, it put pressure on the opposition and it resulted in 4 runs.
