Arrow Fans' reaction: WI vs. IND

I always try to refrain from opening a new thread; the reason is obvious (upper chamber a valo kono idea produce hoy na)

But this is a very very happy moment for me. As a die-hard WI supporter, disappointment is the only thing I have been used to get for a long long time. But the series win against the Hot favorite India is a very very special gift from the WI team to its fans.

To add to my happiness, Lara, the player I admire the most, played a very calculated innings at the very much right time. Thanks to the team for this rare sweet gift.

Anyway guys, what is your feeling, being a WI or India supporter?

From cricinfo:

"The have done it in style and now it's time to party! West Indian players rush on to the field to congratulate Bravo and Hinds, the noise is deafening and there is colored paper fliers dripping from all directions, they are celebrating it calypso style
The West Indies players go for a victory walk around the arena thanking the fans for their support, a memorable day for West Indian cricket, fans and players as well and surely this win will be remembered for a long time to come."

This time West Indies are really back! Finally so many talents become a real team... and the test series will be very interesting too!
to Brian Lara for his match-winning innings! and Bravo was great too!

I'm just disappointed I couldn't watch the match, but willow tv for the series is very expensive (89 $!)... I need to expatriate to have the chance to watch some cricket!

btw... what about the WI winning next world cup?

smwhere in another thread there were posts saying tht Bangladesh might be able to beat west indies now and edge past them in the rankings. Does not seem to be on the cards now. This team seems to be getting better. Good luck to WI for the test series.

sportingstreams is showing this series.

This is indeed a happy moment for me... I have been a pretty die hard supporter of WI...Good luck to WI for the test series.

Nevertheless, Bangladesh will have to face stronger and more confident WI in Champions trophy. We missed a great opportunity to beat them when they were on the low. I hope we will come out on top.

WI dominated the game right from the beginning. They outplayed India in every department. Nice to see WI back in world cricket.

Not a very good news for Bangladesh in coming ICC Champions Trophy

Afetr 1-2, Dravid said that....he had no doubt about the series win.......what a Captain!! Yeah, Dravid you r right......but the result goes to WI's Court.......I was so surprised.....how he (Dravid) got this type of Confidence?.........From Chapell or From "Average below Player".........like Power, Raina, Veo etc.........Next time when you (Dravid) play against WI....plz show proper respect.....now it is 35 yeas.......you have to wait for another 2 years (37) to get a series win.......so plz watch your mouth.....for the GOD sake........I think Dravid you deserve a little more...something new.....how about a "Yellow Wash (4-1)".........you completely deserve that......Congrats to Dravid........for a great series win!! ha ha

---------Telling u friend, Bangladesh has 14 crore people behind.......and when Tiger roars....Westindies will find [edit].....Tiger is about to roar.....so Not a very good news for West Indies.

And the match wont be played at west indies pitch where ball comes slowly to bat...so Bangladesh is on....

About Westindies one thing comes to my mind and that is They r doing much better than what they are capable off...I m very happy that WI has won against India..they deserve it.
But there are some points!! look folks!!These are the pitches where next world cup will be played on and as pitch behaves it is sure that not over 270-280 will be scored ..we will have to watch low scoring match almost altime...so ICC should pay attention at that to develop those pitches for more batting.
Secondly Samuel is chucking! what is that?..our Razzak is victimized, shoaib akhtar , shoab malik,Sabbir ahmed,Harbhajan, muralitharan are also victimized..but there is no question asked about Samuel and Chris gayle and Edwards...is Clive lloyd is behind?..i dont know...

I have enough confidence on Bangladesh...they will beat WI.....surely
Secondly

About the low scoring matches, i have a different opinion. Both the bowlers and batsmen should have something in the pitch. It's the excitement that matters the most. At least the first three matches have been hard fought and could have been won by either side. To me, the memorable semi-final between SA and AUS is far better exciting than the one scoring 434 and chasing it down.

congratz to windies AGAIN! they are really becoming a classy team unit now with youngsters contributing more n more, especially Bravo, who bowled really well as the india batsmen could not pick his slower ball AT ALL! also a brilliant knock from him to win the match, after being under pressure. one of the key things of the windies recent success is there vast improved effort in the field and tighter bowling.

oh, and samuels aint no chucker!

No one should post such types of comments. Moderators should take a look at this

yo tendy_mac...chill out man, that was a very bad comment about Windies race.

but i also think bangaldesh can beat them in ICCCT. windies can still beat us pretty much with sarwan alone.

I am very dissappointed to say the least .But in retrospectiion it is not the end of the world for India , they have had a bad phase for the last 10 days and I am sure they have the ability to bounce back ..the question is will they ??

As an Indian fan it hurts to loose especially after there dream run under Dravid.
Having said that it is only 3 ODI's and hope they make amends soon !

unless they drop this 5 bowlers mantra....they will not win.7-4 is the best way to go.ind shud drop powar for uthappa.and dravid shud come one down or 2 down.

Series in WI (last 35 years) Matches Result
1970-1971 West Indies v. India 5 India 1-0
1975-1976 West Indies v. India 4 West Indies 2-1
1982-1983 West Indies v. India 5 West Indies 2-0
1988-1989 West Indies v. India 4 West Indies 3-0
1996-1997 West Indies v. India 5 West Indies 1-0
2001-2002 West Indies v. India 5 West Indies 2-1

Only 6 series had been played in the last 35 years.

Dravid didn't say that way,he was only instilling confidence when he said that they can still win the series.Recently, when Endland were 0-3 down against India, the England captain was saying that they can still bounce back.Every captain does that ,nothing wrong in that.

Raina is not "Average below Player. He is a Talented Player,Only time will tell.

My Reaction ,topic of this thread is that I am very with the team.It is the below par performance from the Indians that they are finding themselves in this situation now,not the other way around.Had it been Aussies or the SA they would have wrapped the Series in style.India has this problem of gifting away matches. Also the 5 bowlers theory has backfired .
