Default Khaled Mahmud Sujon, will he shine in batting or bowling?

Khaled Mahmud Sujonspeak:
Source[New Age]
Quote:
Mahmud informed that he played some brisk innings when he visited this country before. His highest score in England is 108, against Essex. He also played some blazing innings in the English condition. He also took some wickets. His best performance here is three wickets for 31 runs.
Quote:
Former Bangladesh captain, Khaled Mahmud, believes that England are beatable and Bangladesh are capable of beating their stronger opponents in one or two matches in the upcoming NatWest one-day series

I think this time it will be hard for him to perform as he did previously. Because England is much stronger team with bat now, and even Mashree , Tapash, Aftab and Rafiq also has failed with ball this time. So I voted for "None of above".

Hope he will prove me wrong.

I really don't know! He is a pretty good bowler for this condition and I remeber that he did very well in our first WC which was in England. Then again we are playing against AUS and ENG, so it is tough to tell.
I don't think will do much in batting beause the whole team pretty much sucked and he is no better than Rafique or Ashraful or Mortuza who did pretty bad!

I think Sujon bats quite recklessly. Both the Enlish and the Aussies are thorough in the bowling department. I don't think Sujon will make much inroads with his batting. However, if he plays, I'll count on his bowling. The guy has decent swing. Therefore, he makes up for the lack of pace.

I wish he could shine in both.. but what i foresee is complete opposite..

i have earlier said that his so called expertise in english condition is a misnomer (he has more experience than others though), in the world cup, all three wickets he got in that pakistan innings was a give away (two by batsman, one by umpire) and all other matches he was simply as good (or as bad ) as other bowlers.. in some cases he was worse than other pacers.. it was a sheer luck than anything that he got the new ball against pakistan... we wanted to give chances to other members of the team as this was the last match of the tournament..so the regular new ball bowlers just sat out... mind u , the new ball bowlers througout the tournament bowled very steady line.. and was never taken apart..except one match (do not bother to see chacha;s figure in that match)

i definetely miss his batting, God knows why he could not produce anything significant in quite a few years.. (He had batted very intelligently in that pakistan match..)

and above all, 99 is million years ago.. with his present pace I cant see anything happening..

to make things worse, he will be bowling to players who will be very aggressive (as they are trying to prove points to each other).. so our bowlers will take the brunt.. batmen, under thse conditions may not be good enough to even take the brunt..

** howver i agree with one thing, there is alwaya outside chance if we can put 200 or so, batting first.

None fof the above. He will shine with both Ball and the Bat. But unfortunately it will be just for one game.

But fortunately in that game we will win.

Mashree did not fail. You need support in pace bowling to create prsssure on batsman. There was none who can do that. We should have tried Enamul.

voted for none of the above. I wish Sujon, if plays, proves me wrong!
I would not even pick him for the team when we have Aftab with same/better bowling caliber as him. I would rather pick a specialist bowler or batsman in place of him. If we need an alrounder in place of him, my choice would be Rana.

My bowling team,
Masri,
Taposh,
Nazmul
Rafique

Others,
JO, Nafis, Aftab, Bashar, Ash, Pilot, Rana

Sujon will be a sure pick for the 1s ODI.
Remember his very last ODI in England--the only game he played in Champions Trophy after many controversy on his inclusion---he was the highest scorer.

akabir77, will you please write an article with video for these so called fans who, apparently, do not know how to react after a fall of wicket?

I guess some ppl need to learn how to react to others opinion in a discussion group:P

I wish there was a choice for both. I'd pick that. Anyway, I picked bowling. He might do decent batting but I think his bowling will be better. Someone on this thread said he got his wks vs Pak by luck...u must be on high..nobody wants to give u wks except if u r BD batsmen like ash/sumon. BD bowlers ALWAYS earn them.

what is 'shining' anyway?? score 30 runs and being a top scorer in a ABSOLUTELY loosing cause??? is that shining???

taking 3 wickets i can undertand can be very handy and my be shining too..

Let's hope and pray that he does his job well..and that will reallly depend on the context of the game. if he bats at number 8 or 9, there is no point in expecting anything.. then again it depends on the context of the game..

even we batted down the order his small innings agisnt dahaka helped alot 9two formidable partneships..) so that innings was much worthwhile than a causeless top score of 30 (just because others did not score that is why 30 looks big..)

in Bowling too, if our batman put 100/110 in the board, bowlers canot be evaluated.

** some one mentioned his top scoring innings.. where we bowled first and his bowling was not that much successful.. and batting was a non factor as we immediately beconme something like 30/4.....
