Default Any New Yorker wanna play cricket?

Are there any NY'ers here who want to get together and start playing some cricket this summer?...Saturdays...anywhere within the 5 boroughs?

I've been desperately looking for some BD's to play cricket with. If anyone has the interest to get together with some folks and play this summer, please drop me a note in this forum or contact me directly at mirshafi@aol.com.

Thanks.

Mir

Sounds great...I haven't either...and I'm really eager to get back into it. Where do you live? Do you know of any parks we could start off at? I want to make this a regular Saturday thing.

i live in long island, but i dont mind going anywhere in brooklyn or queens (or manhattan or staten island or wherever :p)

there are plenty of places in brooklyn where we could play, but let me ask around and see what's the best place for cricket. there arent any bengali people around where i live, so i've been kinda outta touch with cricket (and cricket venues:embaressed: )

theTiger, that would be awesome, but let's get together first and play a couple of games amongst ourselves. then we can challenge the indians and the pakistanis.

Sadi, could you please give us more details about the Kissena park events? Do we take the 7 train to Main St...and how do we get there from the train station? Also, what time will you guys start this Saturday?

Dhur, can you meet us there this Saturday?

Dhurr, we would all pool in to get whatever gear we need. Let's try to bring some people together so that we can start to bring some shape to this. I am 26 yrs old...and I haven't played any cricket in quite some time...but I'm very willing nonetheless.

thetiger, when should we meet up at Kissena this Saturday? And how do we get there?

I live in New Jersey.I can certainly join you guys in Saturday or Sunday.I guess someone has to propose a place for this weekend. If we cant play in Kissena Park, then we should find some other place where we can reinitiate ourselves with cricket bat and ball after only god knows how many years.

Welcome Sunniath...
I guess we're still trying to decide where to meet up on Saturday. I think it might not be a bad idea for all of us to meet up at Kissena Park on Saturday...then, after we all get acquainted, we can have a definite plan going forward.

thetiger, please fill us in. What time should we meet up at Kissena this Saturday?

thetiger...
The BD vs. AUS match starts at 9:45 GMT (which is 5:45 am NY time). The match should end around 3:45 NY time. We could still get together in the afternoon...around 5:00 pm this Saturday (if you're willing) to take a few knocks at the park around your house in Forest Hills.

The Saturday after, we can get together earlier (noon-ish).

What do you think?
