Default Spinners ...........

All five wickets were taken by spinners today. Does that mean we made a mistake not taking enamul in the test series and Not playing rana in the earlier matches?

Not only our spinners, but spinners in general are more successful than they were thought to be.

is it too early to call it a mistake? Is it inconclusive or We did make a mistake?

it is well known that england suck against spinners. even in ODIs. teams when they tour england always rely on them. murali, kumble, warne, mushi etc etc always did their trick here. now kaneria is doing great.

it is poor team management that they decide to play 3 pacers. bd pacers are simply not good enough to take wickets in test matches against good batsmen.

It was a mistake , I was saying from the begining. But our selectors and stupid captain never learn from mistake. I am sure they will again sit down Rana whenever they gets chance. While, Rana is always a regular performer.

The English condition had changed a bit over the last one month.

When the test series was on, there were very few sunny days, but when the Natwest series started, sunny days are overwhelming, which resulted in the change of our bowling department - vast improvement in our spin bowling.

In short, Rafique played in the test series, he did not look remotely as effective; but now he looked like the best spin bowler for Bangladesh today.

fw, even if the selection was ok in test series, how about the ODI? we did not play rana for the first 3 ODI and went for taposh and chacha.

Yeah, Test series was fine and I dont think picking Enamul would have made much difference. In late May, it was still cloudy and cold at times, whereas now we are basking in sunshine and really hot weather.

However, Rana should have played in the ODIs, taking three seamers plus Aftab was not necessary, especially when the pacers were struggling. Plus, in ODIs, taking the pace off the ball is a good thing, makes it harder for the other side to hit. Taposh and Nazmul have bowled at the perfect pace for the English and Aussie batsmen to whack anything remotely off line or length.

Dont overdo guyz.......i think the inclusion of RANA is timely enough

We could never started Natwest series by playing only 2 pace bowlers and 2 front line spinners......selectors and captain were also right in trying to play 3 pace bowlers in the earlier matches.

It was a mistake at all. All the comentators mentioned that this particular pitch and the one in last game against AUS was slower and more favorable to spinner. Today we succeeded with spinner but yesterday we didn't. ENG doesn't really suck playing spin, they are just not as good as AUS.

Today, Rafique was the only one to spin the ball; Rana spun only few deliveries. I think Jr. would have liked to bowl on this pitch but Rana was a better choice given his better batting stats.
