Default How BD uses video technology ...

http://www.thedailystar.net/2005/06/30/d50630040230.htm

Fascinating stuff. Further proof that our team is getting more and more professional. BTW, there's a comment in the article about Mohsin Kamal which further illustrates why that man is, to borrow from Comic Book Store Guy (Android's Dungeon), "worst coach ever!"

But the continuity of his job suffered a setback during the two-year coaching stint of Pakistani Mohsin Kamal who apparently had little interest in adopting modern-day technology.
Really, Mohsin Kamal's time was the dark age of our cricket.

"shidha khel!"

although this was all he knew, i must confess that had our batsmen followed this, we would have scored big more frequently

ATMR, dunno if you've read Imran Khan's autobiography "All Round View" - an excellent, if sometimes revisionist read, which offers great insight to captaincy and coaching. The "sidha khel" comment reminds me of a passage from the book ...

Quote:
Every fool can tell the bowler to pitch it up. My approach as a captain would be to walk up to the bowler and find out why this is not happening? Is he having run up problems? Is that end not working? ...
I'm quoting from memory, so these may not be the exact words, but you get the gist of it. You or I could tell our batsmen to play it straight, however, you need the expertise and technology to say, "look, it seems when you are facing balls on off stump, you are closing your bat early and that's preventing straight shots ... so focus on keeping the wrists cocked on balls on mid and off"

Stupid man should record the Srilankans when they played against Aussies in Australia . Why he is comparing against West Indies ? West Indies is not in good form anyway so , Srilankans will win the series if they close their eyes and playing with them . Srilankans drawn that series against Aussies . Find out how did they do it . Still we have lack of experience in our management .

hehe...i was by no means giving the guy any credit for shouting out those words. just another way of saying that our batsmen should try to play straighter than they currently do, and avoid all those cross bat shots. no relation to mohsin kamal's shoutings, really just mentioned him since his name was brought up here

Srilanka have a new coach now. So their strategy has obviously changed, so whats the point of watching and getting data from something old???

Now who's the stupid?
