Default MOM: Shahriar Nafees

Even though we lost but Shahriar won the MOM.
Great batting by him under pressure. And very good support by Mashud.
Congrats: Shahriar Nafees

Thank You, didn't watch the match presentation, so didn't know about who the man of the match was.

It must have been viewer's choice - by how much percentage did he win the award?

Didn't find the MOM news of Shahriar Nafees in the other thread. If there is, moderators could merge this one with that.

And ofcourse Shahriar nafees deserves a thread for MOM. Doesn't he?

yes. we should congratulate the young man.

Also, he is probably the only Bangladeshi player that can speak some English...finally someone I could understand and not feel embarrassed about...

Holding asked him if he was gonna drink that champagne, worried about his age and all, and he shot back saying will share a little bit with his mates. I like that. Staright forward honest answer. He won it and should enjoy the moment.

How come such a talented player didnt play for Under-19 side in the last world cup and players like Ashiqur Rahman was the captain? But I remember him scoring a century against a under-19 side in a practice match for a local team.

After watching him for a few matches, I get the impression that he is a matured player beyond his age. He is good on his feet, has good technique though flashes outside the off from time to time, is very strong off his legs, plays the cut and square drive pretty well. A very good all around batsman with a good temperament and one who knows the situation around him. Good ingredients for a succesful opening batsman and maybe a future captaincy material as McIness has suggested earlier. Good job by him and he needs to carry on for years to come. A lefty at the top order is a valuable commodity.

100% agree with you.
he certainly looks more mature than ash and aftab though all 3 of them have good techniques and shots.

... and he kept saying "like" every other word, which annoyed me. But he speaks excellent English anyway. I was a bit surprised to see him MoM though. I thought Clarke deserved it, or even Pilot for that matter. But then again it's the viewers' choice, so more like a popularity poll. Sigh!

Persosnally I care less if can speak english or nervous in interview or he has some "mudra Dosh". as long he scroes and grows I am happy.

No offence to Javed or Nafis, we need more quality opener to fight for the position. More competition in opener slot, the better we will be.

We got lots of players who showed their talent but lost very soon,,, but i believe Shahriar Nafees will not one of them and will be our future star. Good luck for him and congratulation him for the man of of the match

I really do believe that it was the flowing locks of Nafis that gave his knock the advantage over Pilot & Clarke's for MoM. As for the sham-pug-nay - Abir looks like the hi-fi type - those who hang out at Movenpick or Club Gelato and think nothing of buying a pack of Heniken from that fancy grocery chain. I don't approve - but as long as he keeps it private and he's old enough, that's between him and his maker. I highly approve of the batting tho

May be at that time other playes show more talent than Shahriar Nafees and all the star playes does not come through aged team...

Congrats to nafees. He realy impress me today how did bat in a difficult situation. Hope he wont be like other young players who comes play some good knocks then vanishes. Till he is consistance considering this series------------------10, 47, 75, even going up

Keep going

In every ODI series we have one batsmen who performs consistently. In paki it was Rajin, against Zim/Ind it was Aftab, in the Natwest, it's Shahriar. I wish they could maintain it!
