Default Andrew Symonds Man of the Series!!

Andrew Symonds Man of the Series is not a Fair Selection at all.......It should have been Ashraful or even Andrew Strauss.

Well, arrival of Symonds really made a big impact on the series. He was very consistent through out all the matches he played. So, I don't see any surprise his being the MOS.

Also, all the big runs Strauss made are against our pathetic bowlers, he should not be even considered for the MOS.

i think the ultimate two candidates were symonds and ashraful for the Man of the Series award. And it is actually a fair choice to give Symonds the trophy, as his return totally changed the Australian's confidence. I still think Bangladesh was going to upset Australia again had it not been for Symonds' bowling in the 2nd match between the two teams. BD was on a course to put a huge total on board that day.

Anyways, congrats to Symonds for coming back to win the Man of the Series after being ruled out for misbehaviour.

If Ash scored one more big innings, then he could've won instead of Symonds

Explain me why Ash would be man of the series. In 6 matches he scored DUCK in 2 , one is 7 and other three were very great. The guy has no consistency, he is not that young any more. He has been playing international cricket past 5 years yet he doesn’t know how to select a shot. He keeps hitting the ball as it comes. Ponting is right when he said Ash is riding on the luck. Next six months he will score duck and than play another magical innings which will give him another six months visa to stay in the team. To me he is nothing but hype. He may know all the shots from the boo, yet he doesn’t know when to use them. The way he got out in the hand of Brat Lee in last match, only a fool would try to hit that kind of deliver. I want to see Ash became more mature and play sensible cricket for the sake of tiger, but for now he is just a media hype.

Ofcourse SYmonds. Ashraful scored 2 golden ducks and one 7 in 6 innings. He needed atleast another 80plus score for being in contention.

Fully Justified decision. He indeed played a great role in the entire series. Australia surely missed him when they lost agianst BD and England initially.

What a great performer...reminds of Lance Klusner in 1999 world cup.

I can't agree more with you bop. These too much hype about anything, any player is not good for the healthy growth, steady form of any player.
On what ground Ashraful should be the man of the series? Did his team win the series, or did any convincing result? These sort of campaign is utter nonsense and we , in bangla Cricket, should refrain from these.

yes, true that ashraful hasnt been consistent and amazed us in only half the games, and that is indeed not enough to be given the Man of the Series award, but you certainly CAN NOT overlook his innings of a lifetime, which scripted the most glorious win for Bangladesh yet. A campaign in which a team creates the biggest upset in one day matches history, is NOT utter nonsence.

Symonds produced with bat, ball and in the field as usual. It was obvious the impact he made after return from his ban. Australia didn't lose a game in which he played. Ashraful's performance wasn't a patch on Roy.

Symonds deserved it as he played good cricket in all the matches be it in batting or bowling or fielding.

Ash would have won if he dint score just 7 in the last match instead of a century....

Its a fair choice to give the award to Symonds...he bowled well in all the matches and batted consistenly and fielding was good too...

Symonds deserved this... Once he came in Australia was a whole different team.
