No more funny than seeing a country of 4,000,000 people (New Zealand) beating a country of 144,000,000 people (Bangladesh)

the problem is that only a teeny weeny percentage of that 200,000,000 can actually spell the word "cricket", and most of them, upon spelling it successfully, interpret it as "a pesty insect that destroys crops".

Well, today I decided to support Oman against USA.
GOOOOO Oman
Also, I am supporting Holland to get the fifth spot simply because UAE do not deserve to play in the world cup.

...that's a big difference but I don't think you can compare 60.000 to 4.000.000 !!!

Updates from ICC Trophy finals:
3rd place final:
Bermuda 195 all out (48.5 overs)
Canada to bat
5th place final:
Holland 287-4 (50.0 overs)
UAE to bat
at this time it seems that Bermuda would end fourth and so will be Bangladesh opponent in WC 2007, and that Holland could grab last place for next WC.

UAE started very well... 34 runs after 6 overs, but they have already lost two wickets, probably are playing risky to reach target of 288.
Canada are 18/1 after 5 overs, they are within the RR, but Bermuda took Davison wicket for just 5 runs!

Canada are 133/4 after 29 overs, chasing 196, 63 runs left to score with still 6 wickets in hand.
Holland can be sure of their place in the WC as UAE are 123/8 after 27 overs.

Final results:
Third place final:
Bermuda 195 all out (48.5 overs)
Canada 197-5 (43.2 overs)
So in next world cup Bangladesh will play to India, Sri Lanka and Bermuda... there will not be "sweet revenge" vs Canada.
Fifth place final:
Holland 287-4 (50.0 overs)
UAE 142 all out (31.3 overs)
Holland have crushed UAE and are the last team to qualify.
Teams by continent in 2007 WC:
Asia: 4
Africa: 3
Americas: 3
Europe: 4
Oceania: 2

Do you think Scotland will deliberately loose the final to Ireland so that they don't have to face Australia and South Africa in world cup? Apparently thats what their media wants them to do. BTW, the runners up of ICC Trophy will be in pool four with Pakistan, West Indies, and Zimbabwe

Eh, where in the media? I haven't seen anything! The team, and in particular the captain, want to follow up their Intercontinental Cup win and be unequivocally ranked 12th in the World and the best associate. Here's hoping! There is also no way they want to lose to the local rivals Ireland.
