Default Development Squad is better than our current national team!!!!

Our Development Squad are far better than our natinal team. I'm pretty sure if a match goes on between our natinal team and the Devlopment Squad, Devlopment squad is more likelt to win.

Below I'm attaching an article from the Daily Star. Pls make your responses and comments.

Proteas' perfect practice

Sports Reporter

South Africa warmed-up for the TVS Cup tri-nation series with a 127-run thrashing of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) ground in Savar yesterday.

Fifties from Jacques Rudolph and Boeta Dippenaar and useful contributions from others in the batting line-up helped the Proteas pile up a huge 294 for 6 in 50 overs after they electing to bat first.

Rudolph made the highest 55 off 58 balls with eight boundaries followed by Dippenaar who chipped in with a quickfire 51-ball 54 that featured one six and three boundaries. Both Rudolph and Dippenaar retired to give batting practice to some other members of the squad.

Captain and opener Graeme Smith scored 42 while Neil McKenjie and Mark Boucher added 35 and 28 runs respectively.

One encouraging news from the home team's perspective was that Mashrafee bin Mortuza, arguably the quickest bowler in the country, completed his full quota of 10 overs in the match to signal his return to fitness following an ankle injury suffered during the World Cup. Mashrafee made an instant impact by removing the dangerous Herschelle Gibbs for just 10, caught behind by wicket-keeper Anwar Hossain.

In reply, BCB Eleven were all out for 167 in 39.3 overs despite a brilliant opening stand between Aftab Ahmed and Anwar. The two shared a whirlwind 71 runs before Anwar got out. With his departure, the innings started collapsing.

Aftab scored the highest with a stroke-filled 44 while middle order Nasiuddin added 36 for the BCB selection.

Fast bowler Makhaya Ntini, who had received some rough treatment from the BCB XI openers, came back strongly to finish with four for 49.

South Africa will face India in their opening TVS Cup match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium tomorrow.

I don't think so. Both teams are same.

The only difference would be the availability of players like Khaled Mashud and Akram Khan in the national squad. They would score hundreds/fifties against the same type of Bangladeshi bowling attack and thus will win the match.

Only one batsman have done well for the Development team (Aftab) and he too, scored like a bizzark when it was a requirement for everybody in the team was to stay at the wicket. Even though the intentions were there, but the application was not on. So, they are both the same.

Fehmida if you say that both teams are same now...ok lets just take they are same.

Don't you see a bright future of our team in the next 4-5 years with these young players? They would learn faster and better than our oldies.

I'm still happy if Development Squad has the same level as our national team.

Better? Equal? That depends.

If you let the national team play against the Dev XI, the national team will win big. So in that sense, the national team is far better.

However, the national players are out of confidence. Do they suck. But Dev XI, their youngstars dont know fear, they might be able to give a better fight against test teams.

But as any national player will do better, locally, the developmental players got no shot.

You might be right Rajputro bhai but I don't really get it how come they still lack confidence after so many ODIs and tests.

Youngsters are suppose to lack confidence!!!

How do the seniors still fear and even on the home ground ?

The should stop acting like cowards now otherwise our cricket will get nowhere.

Both are equal in strength. If BCB Dev XI and Bangladesh play 2 matches against each other, the scoreline would read 1-1!

Our cricket is going nowhere. We need to have a serious look at this.
