Default There\'s a good chance it\'s gonna rain in the 1st odi between Bangladesh and Srilanka

If it rains the duck lewis formula might come into action and help BD win. But I want BD to win after playing full 50 overs because I don't want other people saying we won because of rain.

To be honest, I don't care how we win (that excludes bribery of course!).

A win is a win and at the moment, we should take any sort of win, be it a reduced 20 over match or a 50 over match.

You're right though, if it does rain, the Duckworth-Lewis comes into play and the way I see it., the fewer the number of overs to be played in the match, the greater the chance of us winning.

Fingers crossed for a competitive game.

Default Expected result of the Bangladesh-Sri lanka series

We have to realise that, Sri lanka is far more stronger in their home ground against any side. I will not be surprised if bangladesh will be grounded in all respect by Sri Lanka. rather it will satisfy me if bangladesh can play positive cricket and will not let Sri lanka to win easily. Its better not to be over expected.

Zunaid Bhai,
Its good that you opened the match thread. I think you have the most successful record so far. I mean opening a match thread by you and BD win the match. Am I wrong?

Think about the 20 over fielding restriction now before it 15 overs and England made more than 350+ now opposition will have free hits as well .

1) SL are the best home side in the world, IMO. we could play better than natwest and not win a single ODI. still, a win would be HUGE.

2) tapash is still our 2nd most proven pacer (after masri). his serviced us and he has every right to play today. a few bad games don't mean anything tho he has a tendency to be expensive. has anyone noticed that taps either bleeds runs of constricts the opposition? he will either give up 70+ runs in 10 overs or less than 40. he never gives up 45 or 53.

3) lets make du'a that masri is available for the last 2 ODIs.

I like the way Cricbuzz, headlined the Match " All set for Asian battle " Plus i thought they're preview was better then cricinfo.

Cricbuzz

heres a sample

Quote:
Bangladesh too has a very good spin radical led by the hard working Mohammed Rafique, in helpful conditions, they will pose a few problems even for good batting teams. The batting too is no more brittle as it used to be in the past, Skipper Habibul Bashar has been workman-like with the bat, he stays at the wicket even if runs are hard to comeby, holds one end up so that the young stroke makers, Ashraful and Aftab Ahmed can bat with more freedom at the other end.

lets clear this for once and all :

1st ODI is on August 31st, 2005, 10 AM in Colombo. So it has to be the night of August 30 in North America. Therefore, in about 2hrs and 30 mins' time (for us residing in Canada/USA), the first match will be underway!

why is the flight via bangkok? They should have just given him a speed boat and he would have reached srilanka faster.

My prayer this morning:

Allah tumi Bashar ar whatmore ke hedyaet dio, Chacha ke jeno first 11 e na rakhe. Pls Allah. Pleeeeze!

If Chacha is in first 11, we might as well have lost the match before we start. The most horrific horror movie will look like a comedy compared to Chacha's bowling figure against SL batting ...
