Default Close Up -1 (Bangladesh Idol) music contest -New video feeds added.

I can't believe the stupid voters. Some of the best singers were kicked out by the voters. Chompa and Ononna were the best singers of their group (by far, I think) and the judges gave them the maximum points too. The mass voting by Dhaka University students for their fellow student Lopa catapulated her to the next round although she got the lowest points from the judges. She barely made the 3rd round and it showed.

If the prodigy (Nasrin Jahan Beauty) gets bounced I think the judges might walk out.

Well, not sure if you know or not, you can vote online. As long as you are not residing in Bangladesh, you should be able to vote, as many times as you want, just like they are sending SMS.

You know, at the end, its all about popularity. If someone can get that much sms sent to them (66390X2 tk = 1,32,780 tk was spent by fans), may be that person should be the star and get even more popular.

By the way, closeup1 is also concerned about this and they are planning to do something about this. They will bring back some of the better contestents in judge eyes, that did not make it, (probably Anonna, Champa and so on), so the plan is to make the 4th round with 14 instead of 10. So you see, not to worry, Beauty will make it there one way or the other.

From the 4th round, they will add a pass line. Anyone not getting a minimum amount from judges (example: 35) will be automatically out, it wont matter how much they got from SMS. I think that will make you happy.

Thanks Mahmood. You made my day.

Also, the variance in the judges numbers is so small compared to the fan's variance that it effectively minimizes the judges opinions. However, the judges get to influence the voters with their comments.

Same was true with American Idol. It's all about popularity and sometimes the wrong people get in. AI wasn't as smart as Close up. I do not have the BD channels, can we view it online ?

I love the minimum pass option. The only problem is, if a popular contestent gets out, it might affect the voter participation. Ultimately, Close Up would like to get more folks to watch their show.

Well, closeup1 had to make a call between who they want as the winner, popular one or the gifted one, they have decided, they want the best singer to win it, popular or not, kind of like "quality over quantity".

From what I hear from people who watched round 1 and 2, Beauty is the best singer and favorite to win it all.

A friend of mine spoke to a judge who said Beauty is the best singer produced in Bangladesh in the last 15/20 years. Beauty was in an all night singing party after one of the tapings of the shows where sang Robindro Shongit and she blew every one away. I don't think she'll sing anything other than Lalon Gitee in the competition though.

Mehedi is awesome. Kumar Bishojit said that "you sang my song with my music better than me."

Rinku needs to leave his family and live on the streets for couple years to feel the pain in life in order to become a legendary boul. He is gifted but if he becomes a star so early he won't be able to get that "emotion" that comes from deep inside. A man who lives a comfortable life will be handicapped to reach that level.

Thats not possible. In the final round, the judges will select the song, unlike current round where the contestant chose what to sing. The judges will make the contestants sing other types than their normal one, meaning Beauty/Rinku will have to sing modern song or something.

Thanks. That will be interesting. Does that mean Mehedi has to sing Lalon Gitee/ Boul songs? I bet the judges will expose Lopa's drawbacks. They will make her sing something that will be too difficult for her. She is a nice and intelligent girl though. You could see that she was feeling bad for Khushbu when her DU votes took her past Khushbu. I think she'll do great in life whatever she pursues. (She is just not gifted as a singer like some of the other ones).

I saw the first round of Beuty's debut (video taped) in a party with about 20 people around me. A lot of them had tears in their eyes before she finished. Some said - "lom khara hoye gesilo" . And she is still a kid. Ain't nobody stopping her whether she wins or loses close up 1.

Hey guys, it might be a stupid question as I'm completely unaware of it:
Is this Close Up programme organized on BTV,NTV,or any other TV? LOL, I never heard of such thing happening in my country before. Thanx for the answer.

Tomorrow is Beauty's group. If she is all that I hear, she should get more votes than any other group winners.

My guess is at least 150,000 votes.

I hav been watching the Closeup-1 irregularly ... and some of the singers are surprisingly damn good. But I completely missed Beauty's past episodes. And now that I have heard so much about her... tomorrow I am not going to miss it for sure.

It is the Bangladesh Idol in disguise. There is another similar show, but not like the American Idol. there, all kinds of performers compete together (Music, Recite, Drama etc.). Closeup1 is pretty much identical to American Idol.

I could not watch it, too bad, I still dont know how good beauty really is. May be you can upload the video so we can all see?

Anyways, I see that she is blowing all competition away in the votes (I only have access to the online voting result as it is being done on one of my sites).

I have in in a video cassette. May be I can put her on MP3 and upload it later. Actually I could upload her old songs too. NTV will repeat the show in a few hours. Thanks for the inside stories.

The judges would look bad if they suddenly make a 35 points cut-oof point for the contestants (in the next round). They also need to make a 10,000-20,000 vote cut-off point from the viewers just to make it look fair.

I watched most of today's episode.

To be frank.. Beauty was awsome. She has a completely natural voice and just by looking at her thin body... no one can actually imagine how powerful and musical her voice actually is. But again... there is one drawback in her singing. She is totally Folk based and her trend is Lalan songs. Her voice is top class in that category. I'm now curious to see how good she does when she is made to sing modern or other type of songs (if she moves to next rounds ofcourse).

There were few others who also did good today. Among the one's I saw..I liked Milton & Sonia's performances.
