Default A look at the ICC\'s Ten Year Plan

It is interesting to see that in ICC's 10 year plan, Bangladesh was at first supposed to host India in April 2003 along with hosting South Africa, but since that has not happened, I went ahead and saw that in 2004 Bangladesh is supposed to host India again in April 2004, which I am assuming that there is a mistake somewhere. And I hope that the mistake is done in typing the ten year plan.

Have anyone heard of any news for Bangladesh hosting India next year April? I have been hearing the West Indies tour, the Zimbabwe tour coming up next year, and also Bangladesh supposed to host England this year, but I haven't heard anywhere of hosting India next year.

Anyway, After June/July 2004, when the present (or the contract that will be existing from May 20th/June1st 2003 - for the coming year) contract will be expired, Bangladesh will play against the following teams:

Bangladesh will host New Zealand in October 2004
Bangladesh will host Sri Lanka in November 2004
India will host Bangladesh in April 2005
England will host Bangladesh in May 2005
In September 2005, Australia is supposed to host Bangladesh, but since Australia is hosting Bangladesh in this July/August 2003, so I am assuming that probably Bangladesh will host Australia in September 2005.

feullah, I don't think the plan is correct. I don't see Kenya anywhere. The plan which you are giving is from cricinfo. I saw it only 2 moths ago and these tours haven't been given then:

April 2003 - BD host SA
August 2003 - AUS host BD.

These weren't in the original plan. I think that in 2005, our test status may be taken away and given to Kenya. We should start winning tests now.

About the India tour in April 2004, You should see my thread "Ind - Pak Cricket relations and Asia Cup". I said that Pak are hosting Ind in Feb 2004 and there is the Asia cup in Pak in April 2004. I think that the tour would be held after the Asia Cup, if at all it is to be held.

Sham, I read somewhere that Kenya are going to get test status in 2005. I am looking to see "BD tour Kenya" or "Kenya tour BD" in the near future.

That won't be included in the ICC Test Championship - that's for sure - until now.

I don't see anytime when BD would host Ind. The Asia cup would last till 20 April atleast and the WI tour begins on 12 May. In these 22 days, i don't think there will be any tour.

Shahid, you are da man from India. Find out when this tour or India tour of BD is gonna happen.

Just for the record, This Ten Year Plan didn't exist in the year 2000 or even in the year 2001. When on every other test playing nation and their fans had the luxury of watching the FULL TEN YEAR PLAN on the Cricinfo site, but Bangladesh and us - the fans of Bangladesh cricket also did not have the luxury of watching the fixture of FULL TEN YEAR PLAN. What we had, was a 5 year plan upto the year 2005/2006.

There was no fixture on Bangladesh in the year 2007 let alone 2011. So we had to content ourselves with only a 5 YEAR PLAN when the rest of the cricket fans were watching their home team to play a 10 YEAR PLAN.

This is the only reason for me to go to the Ten Year Plan and go through Bangladesh's fixture.
