Cheer up, Bangladesh !
Bangladesh lost unexpectedly to England on Saturday, in the U19 World Cup.
I, for one, expected Bangladesh to win the World Cup. Just one loss put an end to it. Bangladesh did so well to get to this stage and just one loss - and that too to a team they had beaten so many times in the recent past - ended it all. Just points to the fact that it would be good to a have a league stage instead of a Quarter Final knockout stage for the first round qualifiers.
Anyway, the Bangladeshi Under 19 team has shown the great potential in Bangladesh.
Well done, Bangladesh. You have nothing to fret about.

We already cheered up for the series against Srilanka . Srilanka just lost Australia by 167 runs as we never did . It proves how bad is Srilanka playing without the help of Jayasuriya , Sangakarra and Murali . These players forgot to perform yesterday against the Aussies . If we can do something about these players then we would be more cheered up and probably can make a miracle . Now just wait and see how badly they gonna loose to Australia tomorrow again . So , sad for Srilanka !!!!!!

Mahela Jayawardane (C)
Kumar Sangakkara (VC, WK)
Sanath Jayasuriya
Upul Tharanga
T. M. Dilshan
Russel Arnold
Chamara Kapugedara
Ruchira Perera
Lasith Malinga
Malinga Bandara
Farveez Maharoof
Nuwan Zoysa
Saman Jayantha
Avishka Gunawardane

Abherath, I really appreciate your support for Bangladesh. Thanks! I remember cheering for Srilanka back 5-6 years ago when Pakistan was in Srilanka. I almost watched all the test matches and ODIs during that tour.

Srilanka don't have any good players except Sangakarra , Jayasuriya , Murali and Vaas . Vaas and Murali won't be played in this series . So , Nuwan Kulaskera will be joining with Fernando in odi . Ofcourse Bangladesh will loose the series unless some miracle happens !!!!!! May be that's the time . Now we will Cheer up for Sure but Srilanka won't be cheered up tomorrow when they loose against Australia . First time ever Srilanka having a chance to win the VB Series and they have to grass it away and prove they are not good anymore . Such a Bad Luck for them . Go Aussie Go . Watch out for "Micheal Hussey" as he made 28 in 8 balls in the last match and still a not out

Zunaid bhai,
Any reason for PNG being in your list (although I am also intrigued by the inclusion of upper mongolia)? It's just that I grew up there and I have a school friend who is in their national team.

Zunaid, here's my cheer order:
Bangladesh
and it ends there. I follow too many sports and have too many teams to waste time cheering for anyone other than Bangladesh in cricket.
Where the heck is Upper Mongolia? I would probably cheer for Inner Mongolia (which actually is a Chinese province, between the Great Wall and Mongolia). I was fortunate to wander into that territory a few months back...but alas there is no cricket there at all.
PNG - you probably support it given our early ICC associate tussles against the island powerhouse. Nazim may have actually played against PNG in '81...

I agree!!
although i follow other crickets, but not closely and it's more like pragmatic than a prejudice!! but lately i've been hating indian board bcoz of their arrogance.
but when it comes to BD, my eyes are glued on the screen of my laptop, no matter wheather it is live streaming or just yucky crickinfo. i just hardly move from PC, believe it or not.

not a bad list minus pakistan...throw in the likes of scotland and ireland below NZ, then swap NZ and Eng, and push Pakistan off for good to make way for the West Indies, and you'll have my list.

Zunaid Bhai,
Really really disappointed with you. Where is Nepal? They should come before Aus and whoever.

Heh. Interesting that my 1/2 in jest post garnered so many responses. My basic point was Bangladesh on top and some other team at the bottom. Consider this as plots on a graph where the axis changes from cheers to jeers and the line crosses my list somewhere.
More seriously, I do have a cheer pecking order of some sort. When Bangladesh is not playing, my cheer order determines whether I root for a team or just play the role of a neutral sports fan.
Underdogs usually always get my huzzah. As for the "overdogs", SL and Aus garner some positive warm fuzzies from me. WI used to belong in this set but they have now migrated to my neutral state.
And sometimes I cheer for a team because of my disdain for the other team. This is purely a personal choice.
Why PNG? Well when I was following the ICC Trophy in the early days, we played them several times and how can we forget the Port Moresby Marauders?

Thanks Abherath, we really appreciate it. Well, it may not be related to cricket- but I want to say, I have met some very nice and decent Srilankan people living abroad.
Hopefully, we will become the next Srilanka and win the real (big boys') world cup some day . Tamim can be the Jayasurya.
