Why did bashar elect to bat first not knowing how the pitch is going to play as this is the first ever match at the Bogra stadium. Surely the safer option would have been to bowl first!!

If somebody actually saw the way the Aftab and Ashraful got themselves out, he will never blame wicket for once.

Five months off international cricket I think thats the real problem. I strongly believe before every series at home Bangladesh should play against any of the associate countries like Ireland, Scotland, Holland, etc to get enough match practise and to get enough confidence to play against the tougher series. No much game just 2 ODI against Ireland or any other associate team before Srilanka series would have boosted the morale and given lots of confidence.

A batsman getting a century against the associate team in the 2 ODI would have performed well against Srilanka also because he will be having good confidence after the century. His technique will improve. His feet will be moving fast. He would not panic and would have given a better performance.

I was watching the game. Its a good batting pitch and the wickets were purely suicidal.

yes.. most wickets were suicidal. The main goal for the Bangladesh batsman should bat for the 50 overs without loosing much wicket.

If they bat for 40 overs without loosing much wicket they can make most runs in the 50 overs and can reach a total around 225 to 250 which would be more competitive.

Another thing. It would be better if Bangladesh bats second in the remaining ODIs if they won toss. The pitch would assist the second batting more I think.

Absolutely right. A break from international cricket will never help Bangladesh. How about a premanent break from international cricket, instead ?

Yes you are right.

Pardon my language. But I need to say this. Blaming the wicket is like farting and blaming the dog.

Bangladesh should never take so much break like 5 months or 6 months.

If they are taking such a long break they should play against at least one of the associate countries before playing a series.

It would be good for them to play after 2 to 3 months(if they are taking 5 to 6 months break) 2 ODIs or 3 ODIs against an associate country to keep them in form and keep them in fit and also to increase confidence and to increase the feet movement, decrease the panic, increase experience on the field.

pitch was great. its just that our players never know what shot to play and what to leave. Asraful was awful. bashar is a balck sheep as a captain. Pilot and S.Nafees - dont know what happened to them. Rajin did excellenet in fielding, but didnt get his feet wet in batting. Aftab Ahmad is more like Ashraful - 1 century and 50 ducks.

Hats off to Sujon bhai, farewell knocks diya gelo. Kapali needs to be brought up.

And if we are keeping Ashraful after all this crap, then we rather open him. He plays his magical swings, get out or hit something. he is definately not a specialist batsman to come later in the batting line up.

Not a surprise at all - an average team who keep going on of the fact that they beat the Aussies. DAMN NO1 HAS DONE THAT!
