Firefox, Opera, Konqueror and rarely IE

In the Windows PC, I often switch between Firefox and Opera. For some weird reason Firefox is a resource hog on my system. Thankfully I have enough physical memory.

What Internet Explorer are you using?

I guess things are changing. Good to see healthy competition, finally. I will have to Czech some of these browsers out one day.

I've noticed this too. Although I prefer Firefox to IE, I cant help but wonder at the amount of memory it hogs up while it runs.

Konqueror's good too.. I use it off KDE in my Linux

I did start using firefox as my main browser now a days. but still I must use IE for prothom alo, bdkhela, homeviewbangladesh and such. So, I have to say both.

the main reason I like firefox is the tab view, and the main reason I like IE is that its more flexible in maximizing the actual 'view' area. In firefox, I'm not able to put anything on the same horizontal line as the menu, cannot reduce the 'address box' size to put something else next to it and such. once firefox has those flexibilities, it would be much better.

bangladesherkhela.com and many other bangla sites will work fine with firefox if you have Boishakhi font installed.

Click to download Boishakhi font

Assalaamu 'alaikum,

I use K-meleon (for windows). It's based on Mozilla, so as fast as Firefox. But unlike Firefox, it uses very little ram. Worth checking out!

My favorite is the ie based Maxthon. Used to be an avid user of Netscape upto the Communicator days. Tried FF but the tab sizes are ugly and the mouse movements are jerky at times.
