Vulnerable Bangladesh !
Bangladesh had just one positive in today's game. They handled the threat of losing to Kenya well, at the death, held their nerve and won the match.
Anyway, the fact that they got into such a situation with Kenya-a team with no international exposure apart from playing equally miserly Zimbabwe in the last so many months- is something Dav has to address immediately.
Ashraful failed to fire once again.. Bashar can be excused as he has been doing his bit regularly enough. But Ash continues to dash and made a hash of it. What rash batting !
If this were a 7 match series, Kenyans would actually win a game or two. What a courageous side.
I won't be surprised if they pull off a win in the 4th ODI tough it is more likely that the Bangladeshis would pull it off to make it 4-0.
Bangladesh should not slip into complacency. True they won an ODI against Sri Lanka. Though it was a depleted SL side, the win was still valuable. But look at the pathetic performance in the tests, in neither of which Bangladesh could last a full 4 days. Bangladesh has been in tests for quite some time now and cannot call their performance against SL good as Bashar claims. A test side can't lose two consecutive tests inside 4 days apiece and claim that they have played well.
Todays match with Kenya showed that Bangladesh is still very vulnerable.
If they go on like this the Tigers will be stuffed by the Kangaroos in April. Wildlife enthusiasts will tell that it is not possible. On the cricket field, well, it looks a definite pobability for next April.
I hope Bangladesh would address these issues so that the adulation of the fans could be justified.
P.S. I am new here. I don't know what kind of reception this will have but believe there will be a lot of people here who would appreciate my frank views.

I also dont belive that we had done good with SL.
Specially in the 3rd ODI and tests.

If we can manage a win agaian AUS will be awesome

atleast they'll get to play warne for the first time and should a chastening experience...
as for losing tests in 4 days... its also interesting to note that the pace at which runs are scored nowadays often make the 5th day redundant. even after BD scored 300+ in the first innings (test 1) followed by another 300+ by SL... it took just 5 sessions to close the game out. while part of it was a batting failure in the second innings, its worth noting that if this match was played in the early 90's .. the first innings might have lasted till the third day itself! Also, for us... avoiding innings defeats are still good performances. we've had too many of those now.

5th day is needed for tops team that don't usually give up and score 400+.. i.e. Ind, Pak.... ultimately a lot of matches are drawn.. BD simply isn't good enough to surive the 'test'

Welcome to the board.
This current team of Kenya is not the "Kenya-a team", it has only one player missing - Ravindu Shah due to injury. Otherwise, it is the national team that will play in the next World Cup.
However, I do understand your feeling, that we should not have claimed the test series vs. SL as a good one. That whole series was a disaster for us team-wise, except for that avoiding of a whitewash in the ODI series.

He did not say Kenya-A team. Read it again ... and again, if needed, and you'll get it.

How fast people forget the past! Take it easy ... Our senior team is getting there. These one-off wins against big teams and close matches against lesser teams are good team building potions.
The SL series was the perfect platform to launch a white-wash attempt against Kenya. And this series is a perfect fine-tuning opp before AUS.
AUS will stuff any team any day ... there is a reason they are #1.
Against AUS, if BD produces exact same results that was produced against SL, I'll be ecstatic.

In my view, Bangladesh is batting horribly in this series.
They are going down to bat with "hit and wateva happens" mentality. No body in the top order, except for Shahriar, is looking to start slowly and build an innings. Its embarrasing that our 2 leading batsman, Ashrafull and Bashar, have been non-existent in this series. Luckily this mentality has not hurt us so far in this series coz out lower batting line up has been able to pull us out of trouble against a bad kenyan balling line up. Dun expect them to do the same against Aussie.
So advice to all our batsman b4 the final match against kenya - stay in the crease as long as possible. Spend time in the middle. Play test match. make 100/0 in 50 overs. But just spend some godd time in the middle b4 going out there against the Aussies
Advice to the balling lineup - Keep up the AWESOME work!!!!!!!

Welcome to the board. Every board has its 'special' members. What I usually do is try to ignore them. If someone gets on your case, please notify us ASAP.
As for your post
- we should have done better against Sri Lanka.
- We will get stuffed by Australia no matter what.
- I won't comment on our weakness before the fourth match. We were complacent in the third match but the end result - we prevailed. The match was ours to lose and we did enough to allow the Kenyans to put some pressure on us. Let's see how we bounce back from this in the final ODI. Even the Aussies had a bad day against us (and we had a great one). I don't think anyone in their wildest dreams thought we'd win against Australia with the current team, but we did.
