Default 282--the magic number

At the end of day 2, Bangladesh's lead was 282.

At the end of day 3, Bangladesh's lead is still 282.

Quite a coincidence, eh?

I do not think Australia can score 282 on this pitch.

Default pechal

282+118=400 then declare the innings.
I think we will have a much better chance if Rajin holds on and rafiq quick fires the innings so we can get a significant lead quickly and try to put the Aussies to bat right after lunch on the 4th day. it' is very much possible given the fact the we still have Rafiq and mashrafee to bat. Rajin can be hard hitting to if he is given the proper platform.
Also our win we be dependable on how Bashar uses the bowlers. i would suggest him to bring in Enam early on along with Rafiq. Also not to try something silly like giving the bowl to Ashraful who went for 11 runs in this first over. Basher should know that, it's the aussies not the tail enders of Srilanka.
I think we should put a significant total like 400 regardless of the pitch condition. We cannot really effort any chances of loosing the match. it should a situation where the most the Aussies can get is a draw. It will be a great mistake the underestimate the aussies. But If we can quickly take a lead then it is worth to take that reasonable chance at glory . Everythign will depend on how quickly we play on the 4th day's 1st session.

but the fact is we can't count on rafiques bat as much as we can to rajins.. if rajin gets out, tht means almost the end of bd innings in my point of view.. thts really horrible.. but hey, this 282 was funny.. lol..

On the 2nd day our lead was 282 and Australia was all out for 269 in their first inning.
On the 3rd we had a lead of the same 282, question is can we get the OZ out for the same 269 in the 2nd inning?
We all know that history does repeat itself sometimes. Keep your fingers crossed guys.

hmm good question.. but i think ponting will be more careful this time while he is batting, while gilcrist may take silly shot and get out as he might be over confident.. mmm.. if the first one comes in true, then we will be in deep trouble..

Really? Is it really upto us? 124 and 5 batsmen gone, and you ask the tailenders to add 118 runs? In the first innings 5 wkts fell for 27 runs.
It will be a blessing if they can add 50 more runs, which is on this pitch and against McGill+Warne will be amazing. Only if Bashar or Ashraful were there. But yes, to win the match 350 is a must.

Some numbers and well noticed. My wishlist with 282:
Bat for at least 28.2 overs.
Score 2+82 more runs, to lead by 366
Let aussies score maximum 115.24*2.82= 325 runs
Win the match by 366-325= 41 runs (82 devided by 2)

At the end of day 1 Rajin and Pilot was the over night batsmen.
At the end of day 3 Rain and Pilot are the overnight batsmen.

co-incidence?

350 is a must but we hope for a 400 lead. rajin and Masud are still there. I dont' consider them as tail enders. Also masri and rafiq is yet to come!

Well, they added 124 runs to their collection while we also added 124 runs to our tally. What made the differences is that they lost 4 wickets while we lost 5 and it was their tail as opposed to our top that made the contributions. Nah, I think it was Gilly who made it even. Then again, our tail is no ordinary tail - sold for more than the head many a times in the past

The morning session...nay...the first 2 hours should reveal the eventual winner. But I am putting my money (figuratively speaking!) firmly on the Tigers to pull it off. Rajin and Mashud's partnership will be the key. Godspeed!

declaring the innings is a dangerous ploy ..I would think BD would like to bat out ..even if it means playing almost the whole day(unlikely).

Remember ..Aussies will go for the kill ..I would say let them go and falter ...BD should play the waiting game ..atleast as long as they bat ...
