So what's the opinion on BC about the HTC Evo 4g?

This hardware engineer guy I met yesterday was showing me how fast it is even in 3G. The only downside too big, even my BBS seems big to me. Ordered my DX. Expecting soon. So I will become droid from berry.

Yes, the size is the only thing I'm hesitant about. But I also like how the screen is HUGE. Other than that, the device is a MONSTER when it comes to performance.

I heard many good things about the EVO 4G and many not-so-good things. As a device I think it fairly matches the heavyweights of its time (HT Incredible, Motorola Droid X, Apple IPhone4, RIM's upcoming Storm3). What's not clear is how well Sprint will be able to deliver the 4G level services over WiMax in the long-term compared to AT&T's 3G+ and VZW's LTE in near future. I heard they are having problem with "Clear" but I guess only time will tell.

Android already passed iOS (iPhone's platform) as 3rd most used wireless platform and will almost certainly pass Blackberry OS before end of the year. My wife just got the Android 2.2 upgrade on her Motorola Droid this week and it looks awesome. I've used Blackberry OS until last year and Blackberries have their advantages in some cases. But overall Android is by far the best platform I've seen. Once LTE is implemented next year in a large scale it should truly flourish into all sorts of devices, not just smart phones.

Funny.
Almost switched to an android a few months ago but stuck with the prison - thankfully, where I am now, they are all unlocked.
My smartphone evolution:
BB 8850 world edition -> iPpone (3 -> i3gs -> i4)
Quite happy with the 4; the retina display is very good particularly for old folks like me whose eyes are no longer what they used to be. The platform plays very will for a techie - I can ssh, VPN, RDP to remote machines as needed.
For a while, I was annoyed at the inability to use all the space for local storage, but found an app for that and on the other hand since I have moved all my docs to the Google cloud, this has become redundant. I just point the browser to Google docs.

This phone has amazing technology. Receives audio signals via copper wire! Never needs to be charged!
