Can Bermuda beat Bangladesh?
Bangladesh has to face Bermuda in next world cup2007. Bermuda already proved themselvs to win in thier first ever ODI victory. do u think Bermuda become a threat for Bangladesh? because in WC2003 BD also took Canada easily.but the canadian beat and upset us.

now I understand how the world used to think about Bangladesh 10 years back (looking at the 143 & 194 runs thrashing by the weak Zimbabwe side)
But yea well done bermuda. I thought the Canadians improved after their triumph in the last WC. I guess very few Canadians care if Canada can play cricket or not.

Bermuda players have similar fitness level of some Aussie greats. This one has 21 test centuries (5 man of the match award, 7422 runs, avg 43), 5 ODI centuries (11 Man of the Match awards, 5964 runs, avg 37)

Bermuda has visited UAE earlier this year, right after UAE had visited Bangladesh (where they were badly humilated by our A-team and U/19 boys). The scorecards of the matches played between Emirates Cricket Board teams and Bermuda are given below (notice that UAE fielded a development squad in the first match)-
Match 1
Match 2
Match 3
Match 4
Match 5
To me, they seem to be a team of Nepal or Malaysia's standard.

Bangladesh should have no problem beating Bermuda (or Canada) in the World Cup.

Zimbabwe scored 338 runs vs. Bermuda!
I wish our players could do that!

Zimbabwe crushed Barmuda in the final by 83 runs with a century by Sibanda. It does not look like "threatening" to BD in the WC, insha'Allah.

Bermuda has been playing ICC trophy for the longest time. In an earlier post (couple months back) I posted some links to some scorecards, do check it out when you get a chance.
While BD moved on from ICC to WC/ODi status, Bermuda took forever (even though they fared better early on) to make it to the world cup and they were lucky to be in the WC.
As for this thread, Bermuda beat Scotland to win their first ODI. I hope the poster realized the difference between Scotland and Bangladesh after the third game. Even at their weakest, Zimbabwe destroyed Scotland and Bermuda. I personally thought Bermuda was a much better team. The results actually took away my concerns. My only hope, BD players don't take Bermuda as easily as I do. I/We can afford to be complacent but the players need to take every match professionally.

Tehsin bhai, I agree with your general assessment of the Bermuda team, but it seems that you got your facts wrong-

According to StatsGuru, Bermuda has not beaten Scotland even in an ICC Trophy match. Also, that match against Cananda was Bermuda's first ever official One Day International (ODI) match.

Bermuda has no match for BD, there is a huge gap between Test playing nations and the associate sides..the fact that a weak Zim side posted 300+ runs shows that they are way below although that doesnt mean Bangladesh or South Africa will post 400+.

My bad, I meant Canada. The spelling was just a little off. You can clearly see the C, A, N, and D.
