MU need a pure finisher ... like Rudd or Andy "Goal" of olde.

Too many play makers in the kitchen. Rooney, Tevez and Saha are similar type of forwards.

saha is a genuine striker. Rooney's finishing is also good.

C.Ronaldo is just a spoilt kid and no-one likes him in international football. De Rossi has said that Roma are "a team of men and no-one asked anything to C.R."...
I'm glad yesterday we showed we play on same level (if not better) with M.U. though we can spend on transfer market only 1/10 of what they spend... and I'm quite sure we'll win the next game in Rome in November (as we alreay beat them last April in Olimpico).

Down with money-maker clubs... support your local team!

No offence, but I'm sure that's because United isn't playing as good as last season. We're stuck with this series of 1-0 wins, we need to break this barrier. Ronaldo doesn't care if no one likes him as long as his team and fans support him. The booing and taunting only encourages him to play better, so you're doing us a favour.

Anyway, I think it's going to be a difficult game in Roma. I just hope there isn't a repeat of the incident last time. You don't want the police to do the dirty work of ultras.

MU is not in the real form yet. They are not scoring a lot of goals but as long as they are winning I am happy. I love that Vidic guy, a no-nonsense defender!! AF needs to find a way to mix Roo-Ron-Tev in 11.

The police acted very badly in Rome last april, but as I know it I must say I'm not surprised of their behaviour... I hope this time anything goes OK, but I'm afraid it won't be like that...

The last match of the group could be almost a friendly one as both teams could be already qualified (if we make 4 points out of 6 against Sporting Lisbon, which I think we can), but still I would like to see us winning on MU... though I'm just regretting we've lost our midfielder Aquilani for some months... he's very talented and he makes an excellent couple with other home-grown talent De Rossi, but he's very unlucky as he's had 4 bad injuries in 4 years!

btw about CL I would be very surprised if Barcelona don't win this one as they can field Henry+Eto'o+Messi+Ronaldinho... shocking!

De Rossi, the way he plays, injuries will always be not too far from him. Losing Aqualini is big for you guys, though I couldn't find him on the pitch against MU. I think, Roma is too much dpendent on Totti ( and he is a genius. let there be no doubt about that ) to make plays and should look for a pure striker to play alongside him. Also, question mark is first choice keeper Doni. I do like Roma more than any other Italian side simply because of Totti. But, like you said, the return match for MU won't mean much as we should rap it up by then.

The best teams are those who can grind out 1-0 victories, even when they're not playing well. I look forward to watching Man Utd playing in good form. I'd rather they win 1-0, then not win at all.

Man Utd 4-0 Wigan
Tevez (c) scored his second league goal for Man Utd

Manchester United's attacking trio of Carlos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney put their side top of the table for the first time this season.

Initially United were stymied by Wigan but Tevez's darting run and then his strength and composure to drill into the net gave them a second-half lead.
Soon after Ronaldo headed in from close range following a United corner.

United confirmed their dominance when Rooney set up Ronaldo, before the England striker headed in the fourth.

- BBC

Great win! Nice to see the goals are finally coming. This will give the team a big confidence boost. Although O'Shea and Vidic injuries are concerning. I hope it's nothing serious.

Man Utd 4-1 Aston Villa
Man Utd's Wayne Rooney celebrates his goal with Nani

Wayne Rooney struck twice and missed a penalty as Manchester United eased to victory against nine-man Aston Villa.

Gabriel Agbonlahor headed Villa into an early lead, but Rooney's two composed finishes put United in front.

Craig Gardner's own goal gave United a third before half-time, and Nigel Reo-Coker was sent off on the hour.

Keeper Scott Carson followed for a foul on Carlos Tevez, and even though Stuart Taylor saved Rooney's spot-kick, Ryan Giggs added a deflected fourth.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson rested Cristiano Ronaldo and gave fellow countryman Nani a place in the starting line-up.

- BBC

Another comprehensive victory. United are easing back to their attacking form. It's only a matter of time we reclaim our place as #1.

Great win. Just a shame Rooney didn't get a hat trick. Glad to see Man Utd playing entertaining and attacking football once again.

Man Utd 4-1 Middlesbrough

Wayne Rooney scored one goal and superbly set up another as Manchester United overwhelmed Middlesbrough to move to the top of the Premier League.

United went ahead on three minutes when Nani drove in a cracking shot from 30 yards but Jeremie Aliadiere soon equalised with a precise header.

Nani robbed Stuart Downing and played in Rooney, to smash United's second.

After the break Carlos Tevez slotted in after a sublime Rooney back-heel and he added a fourth with a deflected shot.

Match report

United scored 16 goals in their last 4 league matches, 4 goals in 4 successive matches for the first time in a 100 years. Rooney scored 8 goals in 7 matches for club and country coming back from injury, showing what a truly outstanding striker he is. Tevez scored two more goals today, discarding any doubts he can play with Rooney. C'mon you Red Devils!

The big match is under an hour away.

Another 4-something victory, anyone?

Looking forward to it, should be an excellent match, from the two best teams this season.

Match ended in a 2-2 draw. Arsenal scrambled a goal at injury time, so that's a bit disappointing. Otherwise everything is the same, we just have to keep winning.

One defeat to a fluke goal is hardly anything an ARSE fan should be proud of. Enjoy the moment, I know you guys will disappear as soon as ARSE is not in the top anymore.

during that tenure Arsenal outclassed ManU more than once. So, just wait and see. Arsenal will bring their glory again.
