Default Even Regional Cricket Associations of India are now profit/loss-focussed?

It is indeed very strange to see that Punjab Cricket Association has threatened to withdraw themselves as a venue of 5 Champ Trophy mathces. They claim that the 'loss' that they will face because of holding the matches is too much for them to take. They also claim that they will face the loss because ICC holds all the Media & Advertisement rights to the matches. Even though they are offered 70% of the ticket money.. they refuse to settle to that deal.

The central Indian board BCCI has included PCA(Mohali Venue) in the venue list. I really thought that in case of international tournaments.. these issues are handled by Central Board. And surely India will earn huge revenue from this tournament as a whole. But in India's case.. regional boards don't seem to be in good co-ordination with BCCI and seem to demand their own share of the money. Everyone seems to be more concerned about business and media-rights rather than events.

CI Report: Punjab board threatens to withdraw Mohali

Why now threaten? Why not six months back when the venues were settled? Cause a viable option could have been made then?

I would say ..why not ?

And secondly PCA is unhappy with the ICC not the BCCI.

In the defence of PCA, they do spend a lot of money in cricketing things too. Last year they had former Pakistan captain Intikhab Alam as the coach and his salary was (from memory) around 10 million rupees. PCA has one of the best stadiums, infrastructure and organised junior cricket in India.

BCCI pays a flat sum of 60 million rupees to each state association. But if a cricket association wants to go well beyond the usual stuff, they have to find funds on their own.

Maharashtra team is looking at hiring three overseas players for this year.
