Default Sakib sustained injury in the Twenty20 league : Requires 3 weeks recovery time

A bad news indeed. Sakib suffered a hairline fracture in his right palm and requires 3 weeks time before his recovery. Hope he will be well fit before Zim tour.

From BDNews

Quote:

Dhaka, Dec 25 (bdnews24.com) - National all-rounder Saqib Al Hasan sustained a hairline fracture on his right palm during Mohammedan's Twenty20 league encounter against Brothers Union Saturday.

Saqib missed his team's crucial match against Sonargaon Cricketers Monday. His right hand was wrapped in bandage as he watched the game from the bench.

"There is nothing to worry. It's a minor injury. Saqib needs a three-week rest to recover as per doctor's advice," said Mohammedan captain Habibul Bashar.

"The doctor asked Saqib to take rest for three weeks as further injury could make the fracture serious," said Bashar. He hoped that Saqib would return to action before the start of the premier division cricket league on January 15.

Saqib felt better before the match against Abahani, but he started to feel pain in his palm after making a boundary-line save in BKSP ground Sunday.

He'll be fine soon. Inshallah. Hairline fracture is fine...but not before a tournament.

He should be fine ... I don't think he'll miss any first class/list a cricket. I just hope that he doesn't go into bad form after this injury :-S

Pretty bad news indeed.....im just glad its not an arm injury (which would take him 3 weeks to heal, let alone play cricket). I havent heard of many Palm hairline fractures though, i guess he might have caught a ball speeding toward him or something. But, as pagol-chagol said, if there was any time for a minor injury, this would be it.
He's left handed too, which is pretty lucky i guess.

It's not in his arm...but in the palm. I think that's bad enough...but hopefully a hairline fracture will heal sooner.

I was a bit scared by the report by DS:
Quote:
Sakib injured
Sports Reporter

National all-rounder Sakib Al Hasan will be out of action for the next three weeks after he broke a bone in his right hand during the ongoing Premier Division Twenty20 League.

The promising left-handed middle-order batsman and useful left-arm spinner got the injury while fielding for Mohammedan against Brothers Union in the second round game at BKSP.

Despite the injury he played the third round match for his side against Abahani at the same venue.
"It will be three weeks before I can play a match again. The physio instructed me to take rest," informed Sakib yesterday after he missed the tantalising match against Sonargaon.
However, wish him a quick recovery and be able to take active part in the tournament and gain valuable experience and confidence.

CCL is corporate cricket league where all the corporate cricket houses participate. Premier league is the elite Dhaka cricket league where teams like Abahoni, Mohamedan and others take part. Premier league is only one dayers.

Hope all our main 15 players passes the next few months injury free...
Would be a disaster if we have to loose any of them for the upcoming world cup...

May Allah protect them all, for all of our sake....

Sakib has been cleared for practice. He will go through net sessions tommorrow. Depending on how he feels afterwards, he may get to play for Mohammedan, against Kalabagan, on Thursday.
