Bangladesh Cricket Stadiums
As promised in the other thread, here is the pre-release version.
http://www.banglacricket.com/tours/venues/index.php
As you can see, only the link to SBN at Mirpur is live and that page is partially complete. The reason I am unveiling this early is to get feedback and comments from everyone so that we can make this yet another useful section of the site (of course, only to those who actually explore outside the forums).

Great stuff Dr. Z.
I've got a suggestion. I think it'll be great to have a link to Google Maps for the venues. Would it be possible? I shall look more into it, and post here on how to get the maps using coordinates.

Google Maps link to Mirpur Stadium
Here's the link for Google Maps to Mirpur Stadium. Make sure you switch to "Satellite" view if nothing shows (although it should default itself to satellite view).
http://www.google.ca/maps?f=q&hl=en&...t=k&iwloc=addr
So what do you say?

Zunaid, Kabir, good work both of you.
How many of these are capable of hosting day/night games?

The minimum criteria is floodlights. I'm not sure about the outfield and pitch requirements (pretty sure there are some), so chances are that most, if not all, that have floodlights will be able to host day/night games.
Mirpur stadium, as far as I know, can't host day/night matches.
About Google Map: It would be great if we all can contribute here with the links to Google Maps for each venue. That'll give Dr. Z some break
And also, since I only know Dhaka and Chittagong well, those who know other places like Bogura, you could help with those greatly.

Yeah, I was actually refering to the Floodlight situation. I'm not sure how many of these have it.

When you click on teh mirpur stadium, it takes you to another page where there is a typo. It should be mirpur rather than mirour.

Great work Dr. Z
Possible typos on Mirpur Stadium:
"the Shere Bangla National Stadiums is .."
"Fleet & Bouncy Wicket"... do you mean fast, flat?

Good one Doctor Z. The first one in Barisal, shouldn't it be "Serniabat" instead of "Serniabad"?

The pic that is on the profile page of Mirpur stadium is too old and looks rusty. Why not putting a pic of renovated Mirpur stadium?

Do we 'have to' choose one from the 'more pictures' sections? I believe there are more pictures available on the web, we can use one of those unless there is a right issue involved in it.

I found two stadiums in Rajshahi on the maps. Both of them can be seen in the following link. Anyone who knows which one it is (or if it's neither of them), could you point it out please?
http://www.google.ca/maps?f=q&hl=en&...27122&t=k&om=1
Here's a bunch more from Dhaka.
Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium (is it aka Abahoni maat?): http://www.google.ca/maps?f=q&hl=en&...7,0.006781&t=k
Kolabagan cricket ground (although Dr. Z didn't include that...just in case it gets included later): http://www.google.ca/maps?f=q&hl=en&...7,0.006781&t=k
That's just about all of the easy ones. The ones from Dhaka University are difficult for me...just can't recall which one's what ( ). So now it's upto the others to find the difficult ones

nice idea, doc.
btw, the official seating capacity stats stats are very misleading, just like mashud's odi average (owing to a lot of 20*'s off 70+ balls) over the last few years. from my experiences of watching games from the galleries at the bns, ek jon uthle paach jon boshe. so a 15 grand seater could easily host ten thousand more.

I got my assumption by seeing a map of SAVAR which is provied in Gov. of BD Webpage. And as per my assumption the positioning details in wikimapia is not correct.
First I coppied the map from the bangladesh.gov.bd webpage and copied it in word document. Then I checked it in the scale in word document & the map scale.

You found it Dr Z
I think I see two cricket fields- one by the road (upper right corner) and the other by the ponds (lower left corner).
I did not realize that BKSP is so far from Dhaka !
