Default Give your opinion on Openers

Ok there r lot of discussion going on for a change on the top order. But I am just wondering what will happen if the change is made and Tamim Makes two big Golla's. Then we will have one opener who just started his career but droped for slow batting another one couldn't even started and now in big trouble (if he doesn't do well) .

So should BD do in that case for WC? cause after droping Jr for below performence there is no point taking him to WC and Tamim will not be ready (if doesn't do good if he gets a chance). Should we call back rajin or some one like rokon to open for us?

1. SN and Jr (go back as nothing happen)
2. SN and Tamim (Give him chances he deserves more then Jr as we like blazing openers then a proper one)
3. Sn and Slaeh (bring him back he is in good form)
4. Sn and Rokon (Bring him back he deserves a chance after good show after good show)
5. SN and Golla (Ok let him play at least one WC. No one is playing good anyway)

I am highly against Tamim's inclusion in the first place, let alone taking him to the WC. But since he's been brought here, he SHOULD be given opportunities...otherwise it'll sound like a rubbish decision for the selectors to include him in the first place. Having said that, if he's given a chance or two, and shows some performance, he's an automatic inclusion for WC. But if he's not given a chance, then bring back Rajin. Mehrab jr. is not worth it. Rajin will probably make a better strike rate, if not stay at the center for longer.

So final verdict, if Tamim does well, he stays Mehrab goes. Otherwise, Rajin's in, Mehrab out. What a joke, either way Mehrab's out. What the hell am I talking about?

Rokon- he is the kind of opener we need right now, someone who has enough experience for a big ocassion like WC, someone who scores his runs at a healthy rate, and someone who is showing a very consistent form with bat.

all we need is tamim's charisma, nothing else. otherwise mehrab's turtlish batting is okay, may be he was trying to play faster yesterday. i want a big change tomorrow. i wrote my last thread, Bd needs a change in the 2nd match. we should have tried new players, who are trying to prove themselves in the team and give some player rest like saqib, mashrafi, bashar.

we should have played in the 2nd match

Shahriar nafees
Tamim iqbal
Aftab Ahmed
Tushar Imran
Mohammad Ashraful
Mushfiq rahim
mohammad Rafiq
mohammad sharif
Tapash baisya
abdur razzaq
Shahadat Hossain
then 3rd match, we could have used our mashrafi, saqib, bashar. thats the way we can balance their team inclusion and make a competitive attitude between the players. now it seems we dont have enough choice. we cant wait for anything but winning now. bangladesh should follow Australia, they are correct in every sense of cricket.

Provided that Rajin is performing, I would pick him any day over mehrab or tamim, at least over the next year or two.

It is Very Difficult to Choose. Every Option has Both Positive & Negative Side. So, Considering both Side for all The Option, My Preference is Shahriar Nafees & Mehrab Hossain.

Because Team Should not be Changed so Randomly.

We Need Experience in World Cup. Considering that Javed Omer or Al Shahriar Can be an Option. Rajin also be Considered as Experienced Player but His Opening Experience is Less than Javed or Al Shahriar.

Team Combination or Team Work is Important. In Past Bangladesh Faced Lots of Problems due to Random Team Change. When You Set a Player in Certain Position, Until & Unless he Score Ducks or Less Than 5 in Consecutive Matches You Must Allow him to Play at least 10-15 ODI or 5-8 Test. He can Perform very Bad. But in International Level Any Player Need Time to Adjust. International Level is Completely a Different Arena than Domestic Level. Even in English County Level Lots of Players Perform Well but are not be Allowed to Get Chance in International Level (Doesn't Mean All English International Players are Awsome and Play Very Well. It is Just an Example). So, If You allow Tamim Now there is No Guarantee that He will Perform. If he won't Perform You need that Change Again. Mehrab Played only 10 ODI. He Scored a single 50s. But I think He Needs Some More Time.

i think, in bangladesh new players always performs. look at alok kapali, ashraful, tapash, forhad reza, santo, Rajin, monju all performed in their early stages. so always go for fresh blood. trust me Tamim will be the best option.

Three votes so far for SN and Rajin and all three from the same school. Our school must be providing students with good logical and analytical abilities.

i am confused. i dont know. i had so much hope for mehrab. i finally thought bangladesh found its opening pair. but i dont think thats the case. i really dont want to see rokon back. golla is pathetic. but their form in domestic cricket is wonderful. even rajin did a good job. these people starts performing once they are out of the team. i dont know what bothers them to perform while they are in the team. that would make things so much easier.

International Level is Completely a Different Arena than Domestic Level. Performing in Domestic Level Cannot Always Ensure the Performance in International Level.

I dont want tamim to end up like the others but i really wanna watch him play!
I've always wanted a gilchrist-type opener for bangladesh, and he seems like the perfect candidate.

Rest Shahriar Nafees for 3rd ODI. Open with Mehrab Jr and Tamim. Let them compete for the opening spot.

Not for this series..
SN and NS. That should be our opening partner.
Shariar Nafees and Nasmus Sadat.

And for the WC I would take SN and NI. (Nafis Iqbal) for 100 please.

my opinion is to give Tushar a chance as a opener. becuase he is experienced, he generally bats well at #3 position. He used to be an opener before. He can do well in WC. He has the temparement and experience as well as good stroke all over the wicket..

I think in WC you don't want to do any experiment.

That's takes out chance for tusher, tamim or any new people.

Realistically I think razin is the best man for the job. But I would love to pic three openers for the WC SN, Rajin and Rokon(backup) and put Rajin and SN.

Nafis Iqbal. He is not new and he is not slow. He has over come his injuries.

i might actually have to 2nd tigers eye on this...his career SR is low 55, but he's aggressive...if he's in from, that SR will hit 70

Good question. NI's List-A SR is 56.62 and U/19 level oneday SR is 59.08 (cricketarchive). So, according to al Furqaan, NI was out of form for most part of his career.

I don't think Nafis Iqbal is an option. He just recovered from the injury. Tamim is getting a chance in this game and will probably get a second chance on the 4th odi. One good innings will most likely ensure his inclusion in the World cup squad. If thats the case, then Rajin and Mehrab will fight for the other spot. It is quite a scary thought though to go with such an unexperienced opener in the world cup. I doubt he would be in the team if Nazmus Sadat was healthy.
