I watched Cloverfield a couple of weekends ago. Nice idea (the entire movie is supposedly found footage from a handycam), but the execution could have been better. The monster is a bit of a letdown when you finally see it in all its glory; they should have let someone like H. R. Giger (the designer of the creature in Alien) design it.

Just saw 'The Last legion', poor production, bad acting (Greeks played by british actors with British actors - Brilliant), bad script, bad acting, bad directing, CHEAP villains, don't know which was worse.
Aish looked good in couple of scenes and then there were couple scenes that proved once again what a big hypocrite she is (talking about 'values' and than showing off cleavage).
I never got the deal about Colin Firth, the man has only one emotion no matter what movie or scene he does and the Brits are crazy about him.

Cloverfield ? The first couple of ads were interesting, then I saw the preview with monster going through the sity. When the preview is that bad, why bother wasting your money ? Still, sometimes you watch a preview and than when you see the movie, the preview ends up being 10 times better than the movie. I was going to give Cloverfield in DVD, I may simply skip it altogether.
I haven't seen a decent movie and not sure if it's the movies I've been picking or if Hollywood is simply turning into Bollywood. Comparatively, Bollywood is producing some interesting ones.
Should have gone out to watch 'the kite runner' and 'american gansgstar'. Atonement won some awards, any good ?
Those in the US, ready for the new Knight Rider?

When I first saw the trailer of Cloverfield, with the Statue of Liberty's head coming flying down on the road, I thought its just another one of those monster/dinosaur type movies, even though there was no clear footage of any monster/dinosaur or whatever it was meant to be! But whoa... plan was made out of nowhere to just go and watch Cloverfield, and it was something! I liked it much better than Godzilla, and Jurassic Park to some extent. Cloverfield can definitely boast of some stunning cinematography to match the skillfully written screenplay. Can't wait for a potential sequel! (I am not sure if Tehsin bhai will get inspired by the comments of someone from the younger generation, lol)
Atonement was indeed a classy affair all the way, though it didnt appear to be appealing enough for the masses. I always tend to have a thing for everything British, and the movie's setting was obviously a positive for me personally. It's got superb performances from the lead actors as well.
I couldn't figure the hype with Jessica Alba's The Eye. Disappointing.

Mahir, younger generation my phoot. . Ajkalkaar cheleder ekdom adob kaida nei. Amader shomoye, boro bhaira jeta bolto shetar upor kono kotha choltona. khek.
I'll watch it on DVD and if I remember, I'll post here. Until then, based on the previews, it's going to be in the crappy bin (however, I'm interested to watch it after your review).
The eye. I enjoyed the original that came out several years ago and what I liked about it was the stories that were similar to BHUTER GOLPO that I used to hear when I was a kid. I believe it was either a Singapore/Hong Kong production. Not really instersted in the remake. Having said that, The Grudge was 10 times 'faster' then Ju-on. In Ju-on, the ghost took 5 minutes to move 5 feet as the victims lied in a corner screaming. It's been a while but I believe The eye (original) was better then Ju-on.

There Will Be Blood. Phenomenal. Absolutely Captivating. Daniel Day-Lewis is exceptionally brilliant.

There will be blood and No country for old man - both looked promising. I'll put both of those on my queue today. Thanks for the reminder.

Tare Zameen Par - The new Aamir Khan movie. Watch it. Of course, if you're a jack, you won't get it. For others, you could watch it with your wife/gf/mom. Watch as they ball up (tears rolling down their cheeks).
