Hard to believe battleship was not directed by michael bay. The slow motion walk, special effects etc everything reminded me of Bay's movies. The movie was dumb as well as exciting (yes i also didn't know it was possible to be both) but went on for a bit too long.

Will watch cabin in the woods tonight.

Just saw the 'Cabin in the Woods', its a horror but not that scary...I just don't know how to describe the movie, it was unique in its own way, it felt like they made a satire of the horror genre, but still I liked it lol. Me and my friend were like "wtf did I just watch, it was weird and awesome at the same time" especially the last 20min. We decided to give it a try because it got pretty decent ratings.

A lot of the same movies as Oronnya but also (in no particular order):

- movies by Orson Welles particularly Citizen Kane and The Trial
- Dr. Strangelove
- Kind Hearts and Coronets (classic Ealing comedy)
- The Seventh Seal (incredibly haunting)
- Casablanca (great quotes throughout)
- Lots of Woody Allen films - Manhattan (NY looks too beautiful for words), Annie Hall, etc
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
- Waltz with Bashir
- Che Part 1 & 2 (loved the music and the visuals in the film, maybe a version with better content will be made in the future)
- Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds
- The Spy who came in from the cold
- Most films with Anthony Hopkins in a starring role :p
- Across the Universe (lots of teenage memories associated with that film and Beatles music!)

Bangla Films
- The Apu Trilogy, The Chess Players, etc etc
- Dipu No. 2 by Morshedul Islam based on the novel by Jafar Iqbal
- The Last Thakur (great cinematography by a young BD director)
- The Ominous House (Surja Dighal Bari) by Masihuddin Shaker & Sheikh Niamat Ali
- The Last Thakur

i used to be a huge stephen king fan during my school days. Most of his movie adaptations are low budget crap. I really liked the mini series because it was much more detailed and the child actor was great.

Totally Agree.. I think Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile and The Shining are the only best movie adaptations of Stephen KIng's stories ..
