Preview: Bangladesh in World Twenty20
Abu Choudhury
On 6th June 2009 at Trent Bridge Bangladesh will hope to repeat heroics of their opening 2007 World Cup game where they surprised everyone and comprehensively defeated a much-fancied India side. The form book indicates that Bangladesh has the potential to cause some major stir in the Twenty20 world cup. Abu Choudhury previews Bangladesh ahead of World Twenty20

Nice article. Was a good read, although I disagree with batting being our undoing. I personally think its the bowling that might hurt us.

I have low expectation from our first game, I think we as fans are asking too much from them. After reading the article my dreams are shattered, what if we even lose to Ireland? The Indian fans will be all over us, I hate being a fan of the losing team. I hope we feel proud after the 6th, I hope we can raise our heads as Bengalis and not hide our face because of our records. I hope the close loses turns into victories when the main even starts. Let's Hope for a better Change. Inshallah we will rise.

Abu wrote it before watching the practice matches. Given we are playing on the Trent Bridge shirt front against India & Ireleand it's our bowling that will give us headaches. With Mushy, Riad and Rok coming down the order we are assuredly going to finish our quota of overs. Late order explosiveness/inventiveness is lacking but Aftab/Alok/SN aren't coming back so no use crying over spilled milk.

Thanks everyone.

RazabQ bhai is right, I wrote this before BD even arrived in england! Having seen the practice matches I think we have a very good chance of making the super 8s. Many pundits are saying the same thing, Ian Ward and Paul Allot were saying as much just the other day. Also, we don't want to peak too early, so there's nothing wrong with warming up with some close games against Aus and SL.

There's something to be said about downplaying our chances ahead of the competition, it will make the win taste that much sweeter...

Anyway can't agree with the Irish part. I've seen their practice match. If Bangladesh can play just their normal game (which they are playing as far as last five games are concerned) we can easily beat the Irish.

hmm That's why I sensend some negativity in the article. I was like what the hell is he talking about. Our players are in good form now.

Good read though
