Default Kapil says "Bangladesh deserves to go into the 2nd round"

I think most of you have already read it but I will post it anyway. Kapil Dev was decent enough to say these things in Cricinfo-
..........Kapil Dev, the former Indian allrounder, said that India did not deserve to go into the Super 8 stage of the World Cup. "It is shameful that we have to rely on Bermuda to stay in the tournament," Kapil told an Indian news channel as reported by AFP. "I hope that does not happen because Bangladesh deserve to go into the second round since they had also defeated India. All credit to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. India were pathetic and not good enough to remain in the tournament.".....................
I really admire Kapil's courage and sportsmanship when their team has just crushed out of the WC. The Indians are very zealous about their cricket and I respect that. But having said that, it has always puzzled me why some commentators and writers had a lot of trouble to analyze the BD-IND result as it was. Nice to see Kapil coming to the front and saying the right thing!

Good on Kapil Dev! Plenty of former 'greats' have already come out and not been courageous enough to acknowledge Bangladesh as genuinely deserved of a spot in the super 8's (if they can get there).

A true character always stays a true character. Cricket found one in Kapil, and he rightly justifies that.

This is how a sane person talk. Someone needs to make all those big bullies i.e. Waqar, Srikanth, Gavaskar, etc. read this article.

There is only one way to stop these people talking nonsense- PERFORM and PERFORM in a constant basis.
Go tigers, go to the 2nd round and take down some of the remaining big guns!
I say- if we go to the 2nd round we try to bring down these opponents,
1) New Zealand - We have already done it once why not again.
2) England- If we can restrict them within 250/260 if they bat first, or we can post 250+ if we bat first, there is a REAL possibility.
3) WI- they have the home advantage, but if we can apply the right kind of pressure they might be the easiest of the pack, a "chokehold" with the three left arm spinners will do.
4) I saved the best for the last- Yeah AUSTRALIA, go ASHRAFUL we need another masterclass from you
OK guys, now do you think me mad or you are starting to think like me?

Cool analysis, I like the following part.

Quote:
Once again, the pertinent point to be raised is, why only cricket? In a nation of billion, the public doesn't bother about other sports, but is happy praising and criticising a handful of cricketers. It is indeed high time more sports are given prominence, and cricket left as just another sport.
It shows the desperate desire to be in the top league of world sports, but sadly only cricket is there for 'feel high'. That's where the madness come from. I afraid, we BD people are also heading towards same fate.
