lol. i didn't say they were underrated. i think they are where people say they are. we all know they have many years of cricket ahead of them, and i think most of the fans know when to check their expectations, batting being our weakest department.

both aftab and ashraful, for me...but i think most BD fans know by know that ash only performs once in a green moon, while aftab is capable of being consistent but just prefers to smash the ball, get into the groove and get out..

I think Aftab shouldn't play at 3 given we have Tamim opening.. Initially maybe the idea was to accelerate run rate in restricted field setting. I also do not think he plays spin very well, therefore not a good middle order batsman either. and as Bangla COol mentions his batting is the same, regardless of the game situation - try to hit the ball out of the ground. I think he should play at 6. But with current line up, he should bat at 7. I think we should bring back Bashar at number 3 like old days.....
SN
Tamim
HB
Sakib
ASH
Mush
Aftab

Aftab obviously. Nafees comes close second but I'm hopeful he will deliver against Australia.

None of them are overrated in the eyes of the rest of the cricket world. Its us BD fans who give them the ratings, over or under. So as Asif said, its really too early to judge how overrated any of them really is!

i am not going to vote, simply cuz i can't vote for just one guy...and it would still be a bit unfair.
a case can be made for all:
Aftab - quickfire 50 is his limit
SN - minnow basher, flat track bully, all are appropriate
ashraful - should have scored 10K runs by now, based solely on talent
TI - one (albeit HUGE) game against India does not a star make
mushy - he can fight when cornered, but can lead an assault of his own?
at this point, the only batsman i won't say can be questioned is sakib. i am most impressed with him. no, he is not perfect, but he is something else.
that 50 plus average happened not just cuz he's playing against minnows...so too has SN, aftab, and ash...they don't average 50 even if you just factor in minnow games. yet sakib has a 50 average against minnow and giant alike.
technically he is not sound enough to stand up against a quality attack on a horrid pitch, but hell...only ashraful can do that.
look at tendulkar, yousuf, ponting, lara...i'll bet these cats will struggle against swining 90 mph balls, on a bad batting track after the rain...so sakib is not in bad company. only ash has the technique, not just amongst bangladeshi players, but of all players. ash is problems stem from his head and his heart...so far he has SEEMED to fix it this WC...when he does finally fix it (if???), you will see that no one can compare to ashraful...not schmendulkar, not fara, and not tonting...

No vote from me either. We are merely looking for our current "dummy." Next month we will have yet another new over-rated player, depending upon change in form.

90 mph? Or is it 90 kph? I thought Mukuddem Mamu was bowling around 78 MPH.

That too with not so accurate line and length (Hurdle was even worse).

Aftab- unless he scores big against a quality opposition, he will always be a quick 30 guy.
Nafees- needs to show better footwork and better consistent performance against quality opposition to be considered our best batsman.
Tamim- Only one game. Still a long way to go. He needs to prove he can deliver consistently.
Ashraful- Eider chad. So far most over-rated by far but seems like he is turning the corner. I will wait.
Sakib- Delivers most of the time.
So my answer is all of the above except Sakib.

hahaha!! That was the reason our batsmen faultered against them. They weren't sure which ball is coming in or going out wide. This brought in more confusion. Shall I hit it or not? that is the question, lol. Our batsmen are more use to play better bowlers like hmmm! hmmm! Zaheer, Munaf and Agarkar. They know where the ball is going to hit hard and how tackle them, .

I would have loved to see a none of the above option...I voted just to see the results...and it's clear that people are voting based on WC performance...based on stats the only over rated (I prefer "Under achiever") batsman in our squad is Ashraful.
