Mashrafee is just a good bowler, but not the good one day bowler
I think I need to clear out something.
Everyone is expecting so much from Mashrafee! This is unfair for the guy.
After all, this is Mashrafee's only second season at the International level.
His fitness is not also as great as we would like it to be. But its greater than the average fit players.
So far from what I've seen of Masri, he can come in really fast in the first 2 to 3 overs of a spell, but he cannot continue that for 5 overs on the trot.
He also does not have the experience in him to go on even after getting tired of bowling fast and furious. He does not know how to use the slower balls, the change of pace, the yorkers etc. which are very important in a fast bowler's armory.
His only weapon is his pace and bounce, through which he could get rid of Inzamam in yesterday's match.
But I am hopeful that he will learn it all someday.
It is an out of topic thing, but I can't stop myself from telling one little incident of yesterday's match.
At one point after Mashrafee bowled that 49th over, Sujon came into him and said some very mean words to him - pointing fingers.
And all Mashrafee did was hear what Sujon say and staring with round eyes (boro boro gol gol chokhe).

Fast bowlers
Always start off with raw pace and then learn the rest along the way. And more so because they realize that their pace won't last forever. If we look at all the pace bowling legends, we will see bowlers who not only had the pace early in their careers but who learnt to bowl with guile when their pace left them, players like Hadlee and Lillee.
Fwullah is right, Masri is still very young and learning every match. We should give him time to develop as a fast bowler.

I have nothing against Masri... He is doing great... he has been the greatest find (in the bowling dept) in recent times... If he is not performing right now... he will... only with time he will come out to be the best pacer BD have ever produced... but we must not overwork him... he tends to run into injuries....

Masrafi will be a great one day and test bowler. He just needs time. And if look at the series, u will find out that management is using him with care. I just hope he doesn't get injured anymore.
Anyway I just love this picture Loot at him.
