Mushfiq could have easily been given the role JO played againt NZ...no need to change the strategy...here's what i would have loved to see:
Tamim Mushfiq Aftab Sakib Nafees Ashraful Bashar Reza (8 batsmen!!!) Mashrafe Rafiq Shahadat
I know it's a risk incase Shahadat or Reza can't finish their quota...but we basically have 10 batsmen and with a steady start like monday's..we should be easily able to reach 250. what do u guys think?

Yes we might be able to reach 250 but SA will end up scoring 500 if they bat first. Who would bowl in this line up? Three bowlers and sakib that makes four bowlers. SA would destroy the fifth bolwer whoever it is.

That won't be possible even if those 7 years old ball boys bowls and the umpires declares them no ball even before the bowler starts his run up.

Why on earth is JO picked ahead Nafees? Shahriar Nafees is a world class batsmen. Rajib must also play ahead of Rasel. Rasel's lack of pace is embarassing to us.

Apprearantly Nafees has agreed to taking a break in light of his recent poor form. So if he's not shown the willingness to play and prove himself, there's not much we can do.
Quote:
The one issue that has divided the media and fans alike is the jettisoning of Shahriar Nafees, the exciting opening batsman who is also vice captain. Some publicly queried why Bashar hadn't dropped himself, and he fended off the question with a smile when asked about it. "If you don't do well, criticism will be there," he said with reference to his own form. "As for Nafees, he needed a break. He's not in the best of form."
Nafees is not part of the 12 to take on South Africa either, and Bashar revealed that the decision was taken only after talking to the batsman himself. "We had a word with him, and he thinks the break will help him."

Let's win the fear, let's win it with power, lets bring back the pride that was lost.
I hope our boys won't disappoint us again. Hope they are not that down, hope they won't take unnecessary pressure. Play with freedom!

I dont understand the fuss about golla. He is just the fans' favourite punching bag it seems. Yes the guy is sedate in most of his knocks. BUt in the last match the middle order failed us not golla. He and tamim actually gave us a solid start. I would have liked tamim to play a bit more natural albeit watchful but golla is there to see off the new ball if we bat first because we have seen that team bowling first gets help from the pitch. Moreover we ended up losing too many wickets too quick in the other matches so golla is best suited in this scenario for the time being. However I would like to see Sn back in the team ASAP in golla's place.

He has choosen the right thing to do. It would be way easyer for him to do well and back in form again playing against a weaker team instead of currently #1 team of the World. Great thinking by Nafees and team mgt.
