How bout Tushar Imran for captaincy?
As our cheif selector Faruk told in Daily Inqilab that Tushar will b back. Why cant we try him as a captain.
Now, i noe ppl will talk bout his batting whn it comes to national team but we did notice something whn he captain a team n ol he performs pretty gud at times. it senses that whn he becomes captain he feel himself responsible out there.
Bashar is no doubt goin to b dropped from ODI team and should only play in test.
In test if he is the captain, its no probz but for odi we cnt have him as his battin is sick!!! he is a gud captain though in odi.
So, why not let us try Tushar in odi and yes Tushar is a btter batsman than bahsr in odi. Actually, important thing Tushar will fieling n his body language will b bttr than hablu n yes we wont b ashemd of seeing ny more hablu stupidity in odi's.
wht say guys????

I think captain should hold average over 30 if he going to lead the team.. we have 2 players over 30 but SN is hopeless.. so my frist preference would be Sakib

When Smith was given captaincy he already played few ODIs and had pretty good average. He cemented his position in the team before getting the captaincy. How can you think to give someone captaincy who doesn't have his position in the team yet. And there are rumours that Tushar is A team material only. He never could perform for national side.

You just can't bring a "new" player into the national team and make him captain. Its not fair to him or his team mates.

We need to pick him for the Ntl team first. and if basher retires then he will be number one contender for his batting place not the captaincy yet. after he cements his place then we can think about him. But in the middle we have to find some one who can be temp cap and when cap is taken from him he will not break down.
I seriously think he is the one for BD future. but we will see what happens.

Give the captaincy to Ash or Mash, I think it will work better.

There are just so many things wrong with that idea.....Most important of all, the fact that the selectors would have to choose him again and again even if he doesnt perform. Take Bashar for example, if he wasnt captain, he would have been dropped a long long looong time ago

I think any player who wasn't in the world cup team will have a hard time leading this team, because he'll be an outsider to the life changing event that took place in this gang's lives.

i also thought about Tushar Imran as captain before... since he has the experience of captaining a young side (bdesh A) ... and has been performing decently with A team....
but I think its not fair to other players, if we just draft Tushar into the team and make him captain... there are other players who have been playing for Bdesh a long time (like Ash or Mash)... they also dream of leading the team... and they have given us some great victories....
making Tushar Imran captain will only create problem among current players... dola doli (grouping) shuru hoye jaabe... i strongly believe Bashar should not be included in the ODI team... and someone from the current team should be made captain for the upcoming series against India...
Ashraful or Mashrafe are the only options i can see at this moment... Nafees would have been my choice before, but he has to start performing to earn this leadership role....

High time to think about captaincy. Maybe some of the folks at BCB need to get high in order to do the thinking. Let's hope that Tushar doesn't feature too prominently in those thoughts when Sakib (consistency, maturity), Ashraful (magic, instinct) and Mashrafe (inspiration, heart) are.

i would like to see tushar as the new captain, just temporaily for this series. if he performs good, then extend the contract. at this time, he has the most experience in leading a high level team. nobody else in the current team has led the national team before. and tushar is leading our next best team very successfully. lets see what selectors do. they always got so many surprises to offer. never expected mushfiq as keeper. but, it didnot turn out too bad. amader eto kothar konoi lav nai, nirbachokra kauke patta deyna. tao bolte valo lage. ekhon sudhui opekhar pala

That's what I am afraid of (otherwise, I agree, Tushar is a good captaincy material). On top of that, I still don't see an opening for Tushar in the ODI team even if Bashar is gone. Farhad Reza, as an one-day allrounder, will have a bigger claim for that vacant slot than any specialist batsman does.

Im not too sure about that. The A-team has done relatively well. No doubt about that. But to say that theyve been successful is going overboard. The Academy team is doing MUCH better compared to more teams in their level. Im actually gunning for BD Academy to win the upcoming tri series...We cant even come close to thinking similarly when talking about the BD-A team

Ok lets make a caretaker captain committee instead of making one captain. BD has a unique caretaker system in the world, why not applying that in cricket as well. The committee can have Mash, Ash and Sakib etc.

Duh.. Nafees should be given the captaincy..
pressure might work for him..and he performs well in the sub continents.

aloha...naz kutta ...halla....i m toking bout tushar jst bcoz faruk said Tushar is goin to b back in the national team.and also as tushar has captained bangladesh a team n ol almost every time. its not a bad idea thinking to try him.he has the required experience and is not a young guy like other cricketers n thus may able to organize our playrs on and off field.
Tushar will field better n bat better than bahsr..
Bashr cnt jst captain n play test match. he is no use in odi

tushar is worse than HB in every sense including running between the wicket (Kenya) and u guys want him as captain. A joke must be. Make Ash captain. It brings consistency on him for Sonargaom. I hope it would also brought the comsistency in BD also
