Jennings refuses offer to coach Bangladesh
Former coach accepts job to coach South Africa U-19s
Jennings refuses offer to coach Bangladesh
Cricinfo staff
May 11, 2007
Ray Jennings, the former coach of South Africa, says he has declined an offer to coach the Bangladesh national team stating his South African loyalities as the reason.
Jennings said that the Bangladesh Cricket Board contacted him after Dav Whatmore, the current coach, announced that he would step down from the post after India's tour of Bangladesh.
"They called me shortly after the World Cup and asked whether I would be interested in the position," Jennings told Supercricket website. "It is an honour to be approached by such and up-and-coming cricket country but I am a South African through and through and this is where my heart is."
Jennings has instead accepted a post at the national cricket academy in Pretoria for two years and the job of coaching the South African Under-19 side. He coached the South African national team from October 2004 to May 2005 and was replaced by current coach Mickey Arthur after there were reports of a rift between Jennings and senior players in the side.

Wasim Akram => amazing, superb, exceptional. He can take our bowling to new heights. I would hire him for our batsmen too...he used to open for his league team.
Glen McGrath => amazing, superb, exceptional...but in playing only. Never been tested. So can't tell. If successful, he will be one of the best bowling coach in the world.

i would love Wasim Akram because when Pakistan lost to Bangladesh in 1999 world cup he said " i am glad we lost to our brothers"...
Glen Mcgrath is very compassionate, An would make an excellent coach.

You must be kidding right??
cuz if you are not, that reason alone cannot stand to be a firm enough for someone to be the coach of our country..
Ive told this millions of time before...and stating it now again...
Wasim could be one of the greatest bowlers ever, but i dont want another Paki to be the coach of our team.
Period.

McGrath - OK.
Akram - not OK. It was he who gave the suggestion to appoint Mohsin Kamal and Ali Zia as our coaching staff in the first place.

Was it not Wasim Akram who said that Shahadat was one of the seven wonders of the world ? Didn't that mean Rasel not given the chance for 10 matches. Thank God, the selectors woke up before the world cup when they realised Wasim was just another ego walking on two legs who like all of us has an opinion on everything cricket.
