Here's a depth of Bashar's self-esteem:

After playing cowardly, pathetic, hopeless, pointless, self-serving innings to ensure a series defeat for his team, the idiot says, get this, that inninigs has increased his confidence. Really, he does not have a clue about how badly he is performing...

Who cares what he thinks, BCB should drop him from the ODI team.

Did anyone notice: When Bashar came to the crease at the 2nd ODI, the Run Rate for BD was above 4.0.

So if Bashar Played Sensibly (not for himself) and Mash did bat 1 Over more…who knows…may be We ….anyway I don’t have the mood to talk about it.

Not picking or anything, just a suggestion - Can you change the title to "Bashar refuses to give away the captaincy"

Actually, when the match gets tight, it becomes difficult to score even 24 runs in 3 overs, leave alone just one over. You don't bat with the same freedom or the carelessness.

Difficult, yes. But thats what makes ODI matches thrilling often times, when a team chases 24 runs off 18 balls remaining and comes within a whisker of winning. Even that fight goes down memory lane as something positive. I recall so many ODI matches India played back in 96-97 that were like that and provided great entertainment.

Well if he doesn't quit, he loses his chance to say goodbye with dignity. Selectors should strightup drop him. This is sad. He doesn't deserve this kind of ending but he is bringing it to himself.

If Bashar had any dignity, he would have retired right after the WC. Then people would have remembered him as the most successful Bangladesh captain who took us to WC super league, regardless how poorly he fared as a batsman (as well as a field captain).

BCB and the selectors should have known better than wasting an ODI series on him. Now it is overdue from that they kick him out, atleast, from the ODI team.

Shameless Hablu....he proves it always when he goes out to bat for himself...No surprise..It will be interesting to see how BCB reacts. When someone don't wanna go with pride and dignity, there is only one solution - kick him out. I am afraid, Bashar didn't leave them with any other choice. Donno why he is doing this. My guess is - money and promise of supportive yellow journalism from Utpal Shuvro.

I agree with DJ. It's really not yet a "breaking news" yet.

I think the selectors were fooled by him. The selectors shouldnt have gone for emotions but given the short timespan between WC and India series, i can understand their decision somewhat. However, I you have seen the last of Bashar already,,, Akram will no doubt select him for ODIs and if Nannu, Bulbul, or other players come in as selector,, they wont select him either. I mean, how would they rationalize his inclusion? its not like there is a league where Bashar can prove his worth. If all goes well, Ashraful will become the captain, Shahrier Nafis his deputy and Tusher/another Allrounder entering the team... End of Muli-Bash(er) story.

I am not surprised at all. I knew that Bashar would never retire. Rather I was surprised to see the BC tour bulletin, "Bashar set to retire from ODI", because Bashar never gave any confirmation. Dekhlen Miraj Bhai, ami agae thekei jantam je Habla retire korbe na, mati kamre pore thakbe, ar ekhon tai hochche.

Bashar and Javed are the two reasons we failed to chase properly.

Batting second is different than batting first. Chasing 280 plus you do not want Javed to Open with so many dot balls that it creates pressure. Habibul Bashar is a typical "Bangladeshi trying to cling to power" with no vision and love for his country. It is his self interest that comes first. I am sorry to say this unless you have new thinkers in administration and selection committe this pathetic excuse of a human being, bloody idiot Habla will continue to believe that he did better with a strike rate below 50%. He is the reason other players are getting frustrated.

Every time Ashraful, or Tamim or Aftab comes to the crease there seems a hope. But when Javed or Habibul comes you have such negative energy around you. I am sorry to say this if BCB does not do anything about Bashar, I will stop paying for seenig Bangladeshi games or for that matter boycott Bangladesh cricket all together.

I think we should send a message to BCB by boycotting them if Habla is still there.

Because Bashar can't get coaching career, Commentator career....so what he will do? ...he is a human being...he needs to survive...survival the fittest...Bashar sei chesta ii korche...r amader selectors der kotha r ki bolbo? Ora hoyto Batting Avg dheke Team select kore...r Bashar er batting Avg. to khub ekta kharap na (jodi o Batting attitude khubi jogonno)...onnoder sate compare korle....so...Bashar will play another 1 or 2 years...may be.

You just write the sentence what I am thinking now. We have to believe one thing that now we don't have option to go backward : "Shomman jok Porajoy"...every match is a "DO or DIe" match for us in ODI...we have to try desperately to win every game...may be in some matches, we will get defeat by a very big margin...it does not matter...when 2011 WC will come..we will prepare to WIN Inshallah...

ASole: "Shommanjok porajoy er chinta tai Oshommanjonok"

R amar keno jani sob somoy mone hoy Golla r Bashar sarakkhon shudu ei chinta kore...
