My Team:
1. Javed Omar
2. Mehrab Hossain Jr.
3. Habibul Bashar
4. SN Ahmed (Middle Order)
5. Mohammad Ashraful
6. Sakib Al Hasan
7. Mushfiqur Rahim
8. Mohammad Rafiq
9. Mohammad Sharif
10. Abdur Razzaq
11. Sayed Rasel
NB: Mash, Shahadat, and Saleh is out of team because they are automatic choice. More importantly, (god forbid) if any of them become injured during the practice match, it will be a big blow for us.
Team for 1st test:
1. Based on the performance on the practice match, only two openers will be selected.
2. Performance of Rasel, Razzaq, Sharif will determine the 4th bowler in the team.

I like your point but I feel Saleh needs to be in there. Batting has been the downfall for BD. So whoever is going to he play in the actual Test needs to be given as much batting practice as possible. I agree that Saleh should be in the starting 11 in the first Test.
This would be my lineup:
1. Javed Omar
2. SN Ahmed
3. Habibul Bashar
4. Rajin Saleh
5. Mohammad Ashraful
6. Sakib Al Hasan
7. Mushfiqur Rahim
8. Mohammad Rafiq
9. Mohammad Sharif
10. Abdur Razzaq
11. Sayed Rasel
I would not move SN to middle order because BD does not have a solid opening pair as of yet and SN is the only batsman who can fill the void with Omar at this time. He should be given the chance to get as much match practice as possible under his belt as an opener before the start of the first Test and hopefully re deem himself for his failures in the recent past. That should work wonders on his confidence.

My team: Batting order
Shariar nafees (worked hard to get back to his form)
Tamim Iqbal (need to control his down the wicket shot)
Habibul Bashar (could say as a wounded tiger)
Sakib-ul-hasan (automatic choice)
Md Ashraful (automatic choice)
Rajin saleh (good for longer version of the game)
Mushfiqur rahim (already showed his potential)
Mashrafe mortaza (automatic choice)
Md Rafiq (austomatic choice)
Abdur razzaq (its time to test him in longer version)
Shahadat hossain (has a good record against Srilanka)

I dont understand why when we can't have two captains for our odi and test team, whats the reason behind tamim not playing both?
He is a good batsman and what he need to get better is more exposure. The more experience he will gain the more mature he will be.

I will be curious to see if they play Mushfiq tomorrow. Mushfiq can definitely use these practice matches. If he plays tomorrow and play well, he has a very good chance of coming into the team as the keeper. If not, then our future wicketkeeper gets a practice match and get more experience. Either way we can't lose. I will be very surprised if he is not in the final eleven tomorrow.

Couldn't agree more.
Mushy needs to play, even as a specialist batman. We need his temperament and sound technical abilities in tests, possibly at # 3 in the batting order. He's a great slip fielder also BTW.

Mehrab Jr. should have given chance instead of Pilot in the practice match.

No way! that would make Pilot an automatic choice which I donot agree with. Pilot must play and show us that he is not the old pilot that we knew. Then only then Musfiq can claim his spot.
Mehrab Jr. should be tried in place of Bashar. Bashar should come back to Dhaka now.

Mehrab Junior ... wishful thinking at its best. I mean how many have actually seen him play ? I have and he's not at all impressive IMHO.

my team (its dumb not to play the intended T1 squad in the practice match):
1 - S Nafees
2 - Mehrab Jr
3 - Bashar
4 - Rajin
5 - Ashraful
6 - Saqib
7 - Mushfiq
8 - Mashrafee
9 - Rafique
10 - Shahadat
11 - Razzaq***
*** razzaq deserves a spot in the test team without question. our top WC07 bowler. but i have serious reservations how successsful he will be in Tests against Lankans. if he fails in the first 2 tests, then bring rasel in and go with 3 pacers. rasel has a very good record against SL.

Not really, just technically a bit more sound around the legside.

We all have seen him play as an ODI opener. Although he was a bit slow, it does not make any difference when we consider him as a test player. We did not see him in ODIs as a middle order, which is his original position.
He has scored a lot of runs in FC matches, for U19 team and A team which means he is a tested cricketer.
IMO he is one of the greatest prospect of our Test future.

He is much better than Javed Omar and thats all matters for now. If someone better comes in the future, I have no problem having him instead of Mehrab but for now, Mehrab should play.
