One question ... are we going to be as fanatic about the Women's team as we are about the National team? If yes, they better get used to "living up to our HIGH hopes" fast.

May be we shouldn't have high hopes just yet. Remember, we are the last coutnry from the sub-continent to come out. Even Pakistan had their women cricket tournaments before we had ours. And India and Sri Lanakan women team is already pretty strong. And our National team...well...we are what we are after playing for decades. So WE better get used to some defeats before we go expecting too much from our baghinis. Hochot na khele hata shekha jay na. They just got the "permission" to stand, now let them enjoy the game first, and enjoy watching them play. :-)

the womens team should be treated the same way as the mens team!!!!!
and living up to "our high hopes" well come on we only just got a team... let us get used to playing a couple of games then think about the high hopes!!!!!!
(but dont worry the bd womens team will be #1 by antora's magnificent captaincy!!! cof* cof*)

Haire bubbly. You're 14 right? If our Nafis_BD can play at the age of 12 (ahem, he bowled out a few strike players of our side ) why can't you? Just wear the right stuff (I mean, athletic stuff, not jeans or skirts), take the bat and ball, and go out.

And from their own voice:

"Well it's a great feeling, to represent the country for the first time. So as our boys are doping pretty well, so we are hopeful that we will do something for the country," said Saria Tanjim Sumona, member, Bangladesh Women's cricket team.

There is even representation from one of the tribal groups! Excellent.
