2007 Coach hunt thread
Starting this thread to capture all posts/items related to finding Dav's successor.
Looks like McInnes may not yet be out of the picture.
Latest from DS:
BCB shortlists Whatmore successors
Sports Reporter
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has short-listed the names of Dav Whatmore successor. It was learnt that former India coach John Wright and former Bangladesh under-19 coach Richard McInnes are also in the four-member short list.
"We started with ten names but now we reduced the list twice and hopefully within a short time we can reach a conclusion," said a BCB high-up on condition of anonymity.
"What I can assure you is that all are from Australia and New Zealand and there is also a big name in the list," he added.
BCB is also searching for specialist batting and bowling coaches for the national team.

Jennings is too crazy of a person for my liking.
I wonder if BCB made any attempt to talk with Geoff Marsh.

That Jennings guy is absolutely crazy! These are the stuff I could dig up about him. (There may be more)
1. There were allegations that he offered money to bowlers to inflict injury on Allan Donald by means of aggressive bowling.
2. He punishes wayward bowlers by ordering them to run laps around the ground
3. He reckons replacing players' energy drinks with water will make their passion burn brighter on the field
4. He demands total control of his teams
5. He moved the fridge out of the changing room and made his players drink warm
fluids.
6. He says stuff like this: "If the players expect soft drinks, I will make sure there are none...They will go to a tap and get on their knees and drink water until they realise that it is an honour to play for South Africa."
7. And this: "He told reporters that he was not going to be a touchy-feely coach and that if his players needed "a good kick up the backside" then that's what they will get. "
8. The south african players hated his guts
I personally would hate to see this guy coach our side, but to be fair - performance-wise, hes done a bit to be proud of. He turned South African league team The Easterns around. He didnt do too bad with SA either

i think they are referring John Wright as the big name... otherwise who else could it be???...
anywayz, there is diff between the two articles... one is saying that all coaches are from Aus or NZ.. the other mentioned Ray Jennings, who is from South Africa... i doubt the authenticity of both these articles.... i hope they are just not making up stories!!!

He is also gonna kick Ash's *** because of his inconsistency but come to think of it he is probably gonna kick the whole teams *** fro some reason!!!! J/K
I hope that our coach is either Mccines or JR and may be the 4th guy if he fits the requirements !!!!!

If the fouth guy is an Aussie, and we know he is not Richard McInnes as his name is already mentioned. I dont think he would be John Buchanan. That leaves us with few possibilty. S Waugh, T Moody and may be Bennet King
