How great was English attack against Lara's 375? that too probably was crappy bowling...
and ofcourse good job hayden!

Yeah Orphy,
that English attack was pretty crappy! But it was still quite a bit better than this!

Yeap, it had the likes of Caddick. I'm just glad that no team has any such record against us.

The Aussies have racked up 731/5 in day 2!!!!! rr 4.97......I have no doubt in my mind we bowled better than this....I still remember how we really turned the screws on in the first test which prompted Steve Waugh to say that any lesser team than them would have lost quite a few more wickets! Makes one appreciate their performance even more now. Having said that, I feel really sorry for Zims....poor guys! They will prolly try and make a comeback in the second test.
The Aussies are just AWESOME... "sends-shiver-down-my-spine" type awesome :P

Hayden's 9-hr innings broke another record of Lara's. Lara's 277 in Sydney was creasetime-wise the longest innings in Australia.

Hayden gone!
Out for 380! I actually can't believe Waugh brought the team back out after Tea. Anyway, they have declared now. Zimbabwe need 530 odd to avoid the follow on!

The ratings will reflect the weakness of bowling attack. Hayden is about 60 points below Lara now. But still will take over I think.

HAYDOS YOU LITTLE RIPPER!!! I LOVE YOU!!! But he denied me of an autograph on numerous occasions. I got such a shock when i came back from school to see him on 326. I watched for ages but eventually I was forced to go out and get cricket shoes (Puma Cell). I ended up listening to it on the store radio

Dileep has written an article about it, comparing Hayden's achievement with contemporary great batters. It's interesting how Vaughan, Dravid and Inzamam make the list, but Lara's recent achievements are completely blacked out. Interesting.

Hayden cannot contain his relief at reaching 300 and now has his sights set firmly on breaking Brian Lara's record Test score of 375 set nine years ago

The Waca crowd rise to hail a new record Test score as Hayden moves on to 376, eclipsing Lara's score by one run

Hayden is congratulated by fellow century-maker Adam Gilchirst as they leave the field at tea: Hayden is eventually out for 380, hitting 11 sixes and 38 fours

Hayden's record-breaking innings ends when he is caught by Stuart Carlisle and he is mobbed by his team-mates on his way back to the pavilion

The scorecard confirms Hayden's incredible feat and the sixth wicket stand of 233 with Adam Gilchrist
