His debut was a forgottable one. Praying for him to justify his inclusion in the upcoming matches.

Although Zunaed got out with a mistimed shot, he never looked out of place in his short innings, he looked like someone who belongs at this level. I think pretty soon he will prove himself a cut above other Bangladeshi openers.

I watched Zunaed bat for the first time yesterday, and I must say that while I thought he got out to a very stupid shot, I was impressed by what I saw otherwise. The guy has a solid defense, is confident, middles pretty much everything and is technically better than Tamim and Shahriar Nafees.

An ODI/Test team's average age is generally b/w 27 and 30. Ours is 22. For an U-19 team, the more emphasis (I'm sure) goes to "UNDER", not 19. So...matha mota BCB could have 14 YO players play for U-19 as well!
And also, Zunaed looks pretty bacha to me.

J Siddique looks very impressive to me. He is tall and strong young opening batsman. He has to play his natural game istead of staying at the wicket like JO.

We must have patience with Junaed..ok he is only averaging 14 at the moment, but he has only played two matches..give him some more time and I'm sure he will develop into a great opener.. we all saw what he did to Pakistan in the World T20 and his performance in the NCL where he averaged 55 an innings(highest excluding Tamim as he played only one match) and in the tour match against Northern Districts, so he definetely has potential there should be no question about it..I think he should play a bit more domestic cricket and then play for the National Academy before getting a long run in the national team and replace Javed as the 3rd opener along with Shahriar and Tamim.

I was waiting to see who'd dig this back up again.
Good luck to my boy for the 2nd test.

I am also hoping that Zunaed will not disappoint in the second test.

A Matter of Concern ...
Some of us have seen this in domestic cricket over the last two years, then we've seen this in the T20 WC, and finally in New Zealand. The Big Z's trying to clear mid on with too much bottom hand as in the picture, often resulting in 1) misdirected power generating too much altitude, 2) too much time for the fielder to get under the ball, 3) not enough distance, and 4) the inevitable dismissal. This is a compulsion he has got to overcome.
Now I realize it was a practice match and and all and he did manage to top score with 80-odd, but BEING DROPPED TWICE??? COME ON MAN!
Sorry about bumping this up again, but didn't know where else to post it ...

Good bump, Sohel...
Too much bottom hand, indeed. He is holding the bat half way down almost. Big Z should work on timing the ball more...
BTW, I dont find him that elegant but quite effective nonetheless.

Apparently he scored 92 today. Well, as long as my boy starts to convert these knocks to solid 100s when it counts. I'm getting a little tired of Mr. 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s and not enough centurians.
Ar matro at-ta run kobar parlina pola?! Ki koitachhos?

Well, century or not, Z has been consistent in playing big innings and thats more important i say.
Scoring 82 and then following it up with 92 is not easy task, atleast, for a Bangladeshi batsmen.
His future surely looks very bright.
..and im afraid, that paints a very gloomy sight for Golla.

indeed this is an outstanding feat (scoring 82 and then 92), but he consistently needs the help of the fielders. just want to see him in control of his shots.

He's an easy candidate for the slip catches.

Big Z not doing very well, in the practice matches but I have high hopes for him although he has few technical glitches. Hopefully we would receive some eye soothing innings in upcoming tour again.

well he did get 2 half centuries in the practice matches even if he did give away chances. score wise he did better than most others in the practice matches, not many of them got 2 half centuries.
