Here's some more noakhailla dialects

Hani - water
Homondi - brother in law
Huut - son
Homondir huut - son of brother in law

By the way the dialect changes even within the same region. For instance some part of Noakhali people say "Ekule" meaning this way and literally few miles apart in another district/Thana others will say "Eaandi". Both have the same meaning. Fascinating!

Sauwol and Fauwol. The TV series "The Fall Guy" had taken a completely different meaning among Chittagonians in the early 90's.

CAUTION: I don't want to be indecent, neither do I want to disturb the G-rated atmosphere of the forum.

Anyone who studied in Bangladeshi syllabus should know about Forayezi Andolon. And also you must know the name of the son of Haji Shariot Ullah, and his son (_______) Mia then. Our social scienc teacher was teaching this topic (I was in class five then), and the whole class was laughing loudly when he came across that name. Our teacher, who was from Madaripur, however didn't laugh at all. Rather he told us that the meaning of that word (Shoriyot Ullah's son's first name) is CHACHA in Madaripuri/Shariotpuri/Faridpuri dialect.

He also said that whenever Faripur or Madaripur people see anyone who live in their mohollah, they usually greet him like, "Oi _______ (put Shoriyot Ullah's son's first name here), koi jao"

Now my question (especially to the members who are from Shariotpur, Madaripur, or Faridpur) is, "Did our teacher tell us the right thing?"

I didnt know that word meant the same thing in Faridpur/madaripur.

Cuz as far as my knowledge goes, it is the same word as well in our Barisal dialect.
pretty funny indeed.
