I saw the advertisement blitz on TV first. However, I doubt if they had our "Rangpur" in mind judging by the old Raj type of setting in the background. But, Yes..our Rangpurians should get royalty for every sip!

i am not sure if the people at tanqueray realise that there is a place called rangpur. i would strongly advise any business minded rangpurians to contact the gin manufacturer and see if they could secure a large donation to a local hospital or perhaps a school.

Unfortunately India has Rangpur also.

Rangpur is an archaeological site in Gujarat, India. Lying on the tip between the Gulf of Khambhat and Gulf of Kutch, it belongs to the period of the Indus valley civilization, and lies to the northwest of the larger site of Lothal.

Their Rangpur and our "Aungpur" ain't the same. Both places have drinkers I'm sure.

The people from that particular district call it "Aungpur" in their own dialect.
