Sakib ruled out of Twenty20 Quadrangular due to finger injury
1 September 2007
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan is ruled out of the Twenty20 quadrangular tournament due to an injury in his right index finger. The news came as a sever blow to the Bangladesh team who will be facing Kenya in their first match of the Quadrangular tournament.

"Shakib has an impact fracture on his right index finger," said team physio Azmal Ahmed. The 20-year-old suffered the injury while playing a Twenty20 match in practice on Thursday.

Hmm bad news.. but wont be a very big factor considering sakib is not a big hitter + we have razzak to do the spin and riyadh whos an emerging offspinner+good powerful batsman. I hope that sakib gets well before the NZ series..thats where i want him.
Anyway so are we getting a replacement for sakib? Shahriar Nafees maybe? The daddy!

I think, new guys are more prefferable than Sakib in the 20/20 tournament. Let him join in NZ tour

This IS a blow. We have plenty of bowlers in the T20 side, maybe an extra WK batsman can take his place. Either Dhiman or Pavel will do, the Academy isn't going anywhere.

Shakib getting better
Tigercricket.com, Nairobi

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan's injured right index finger is showing signs of improvement.

Shakib, who is nursing an impact fracture, gripped a bat during the Tigers' training at the Nairobi Gymkhana without any discomfort and also took a few catches with a tennis ball yesterday.
